how I missed this thread...... the design is awesome...... & it'll surely make its own market...... but the engine spec is letdown...... why a single cylinder 250cc...... and if they are localizing it, then why should it cross 1.5l...... just having Honda name and people are again going goo goo's & gaa gaa's all over the product...... looking beautiful is something & having a good performance is another......
whatever, not my next bike......

Highly Unlikely. The 250 has(seems) to have a relaxed power-curve as compared to the 150R which is a screamer.Originally posted by shivank View Post
160kmph is Ninja rivaling and, that for a 150 is too good..
I am sure it'd better Ninja if we get the same specs as that of Thai make..
The 250 should have a 9-10 seconds timing for 0-100km/hr sprint. A true top whack of 150km/hr is given and anything more should be considered as a bonus.

Yummy !Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostThe Thailand price is exactly what it should be. My RTR FI is for sale then!

, this is definitely gonna be a dream come true for many bikers here provided they price it right. Anything around 1.5 L will be awesome.
Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

This aint be any fire breathing monster like the NINJA though, and might be producing its max horses at much lower 8500-9500 RPM area unlike the ninja's 11000.
The stance looks perfect for the touring, its relaxed, the bike sports high ground clearance too.
Things are getting intresting, as BAJAJ will now 'NOS' it's upgrade of the 220 or it might add the remaining 30CC's to it and will surprise us more. The Magician"

Even if it is priced between 1.5 to 2 lacs.. it should out sell Ninja 250r easily!
The way I see it, the only thing that Ninja offers for a price tag of 2.8L over CBR is 2 cylinders & 33ps which might translate to 10-15kmph higher top speed and nothing more.. Ninja won't be a able to justify a price difference of approx 1 lac when it will come to handling, build quality and service plus the long waiting period that it comes with..

Amen! In our hands!Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View Post@Sarvajit - I don't see any reason why it should be costlier than the Thailand counterpart because it will be completely manufactured here. 1.5 Lakh on road and Honda has a clear winner in their hands

Giving us a reason to keep the bike huh?Originally posted by darkknight View PostI don't know about R15 coming with a 250 cc mill but an R15 costing 90k on road is surely coming in the next 4-6 months but this is going OT now

I had expected price cut long back due to localization of components on the R15.
But that is one great bike for keeps.
Yes, but which name would help it sell more?Originally posted by myg124 View PostIt by no way looks like its elder CBR siblings.. and should be rightfully re-named the VFR 250. not the CBR.

Couple of things here-Ninja is a twin cylinder&much more high revving than this CBR 250R. As for the price tag, Ninja is imported. If made here it would have costed much less-Simple!The way I see it, the only this that Ninja offers for a price tag of 2.8L (Delhi) is 2 cylinders & 33ps which might translate to 10-15kmph higher top speed and nothing more...Ninja won't be a able to justify a price difference of approx 1 lac when it will come to handling, build quality and service plus the long waiting period that it comes with...
But yes, at this kind of price tag, CBR 250R will appeal to most of us tourers.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

When I'm in the market to buy a 250, I will not really pay about 1 lac extra for Ninja just because its imported & has a marginal performance boost!! What benefit would it give me as a buyer.. at this price, a 1 lac difference would literally mean 50 to 70% (depending on the final price announced) is it really worth. And Ninja is no track tool either, its relaxed ergonomics are targeted to commuters & tourers & its suspension is pretty basic too.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostAmen! In our hands!

Well the CBR250R isnt here , so one would need to ride it to actually comment on the performance and handling. I agree that the 250R is much for VFM and will easily outsell the Ninja. But thats only because the Ninja isn't produced locally and imported. If you can knock off the 30-35% off Ninja's price the equation is a little fairer.Originally posted by nitinsen View PostWhen I'm in the market to buy a 250, I will not really pay about 1 lac extra for Ninja just because its imported & has a marginal performance boost!! As to what the Ninja offers over the CBR,
1. Ninja might not be an out and out sportsbike, but it is a very able handler. Easily outclasses any other Indian bike, barring the R15.
2. Its a twin, significantly more powerful than the CBR. It being a twin means it will be more relaxed and is much quicker to the 100 and quarter-mile.
3. I would think the lights on the Ninja are better.
4. It has a higher range on a full tank of fuel than the CBR.
All of this just speculation until the bike actually arrives.Last edited by Hyperion; 10-29-2010, 01:45 PM.
