So the two scenarios I pointed out would not be relevant in case of the Honda C-ABS.

Check out Kevin Ash's excellent article on this here

honda's official cbr250r website claims that both front and rear brakes will be used while the abs is active. when you use the front brake the abs will not be activated.. the abs is activated only when you use the rear brakes.

Not 'abs' ,if u use front brake only it wont activate rear(combined abs) on its own. But when u use rear (rear tyre is more prone to skiding) it uses both brakes(c-abs).
so front brake is not linked ,hmm sounds like stoppies.

        • ^^^ sorry to cause the confusion bro, what i was trying to say, that front wheel is not linked to rear like in its bigger brothers, but abs is still there on the front.
(sorry, u were saying the same thing. (This is what happens when i multitask!) )

You can afford a Motorcycle costing 1.3L, but not a Motorcycle worth 1.5L.

Prioritize whether you can't afford or are not willing to spend extra for your 'own' safety. But then it is your money and your life, why are we advocating? Well there is a reason to it.

On a race-track and impeccably surfaced tarmac devoid of a grain of sand is where a non-ABS equipped Motorcycle shall come to a stop quicker, I think no one is arguing that whoever knows how an ABS functions.

Now, on how many occasions do you come across these scenarios especially in a tourer/street Motorcycle?

On the contrary, you people responded to my post within 15-20 minutes, my post which had 13 links with dozens of pages and a lots of technology terminology to grasp, shows your seriousness, intentions and temperament on such technical issues. BTW, no links from your side to counter my links of experiences of bikers all over the world. Perhaps, busy in launches of phones.
You took a lot of time to respond because you searched & searched for information which would match your POV.
BTW did Google throw up any search as to how many riders crashed an ABS equipped Motorcycle and blamed ABS for the crash? Care to share?

What do you think that Motorcycles across all variants are coming equipped with ABS. Why are manufacturers doing this? How much would they gain by selling a ABS model over a non-ABS? Our own RTR-180 is rumored to be launched with ABS. Why? Why Cars all across are sold equipped with ABS?

Also, all this data and empirical evidence relate to heavier, more powerful and faster bikes. Nowhere in the world a 250-300 cc bike is sold or required with an ABS. So the data would not be applicable or effective in the case of a lighter, less powerful bike and would be a subject of serious discussion once ABS has been tested and used on lighter bikes by public for a couple of years. Till then, nothing sure can be said.
Any bike whether of 150cc or 1000 can do 100kmph and to brake from that point requires good skills on public roads having gravel strewn across. In India, you got cow-dung/muck and wot not at all places.

And yes, I have locked my rear tyre on numerous occasions without any locking of the front tyre.
            For what?

We are advocating because many young guys come to the forum and hope they don't pick some words from your argument and buy a non-ABS model and yes, few would have good braking skills as you, so they need it. As at that young impressionable age, they can easily be influenced that they are the next Doohan.

I feel the PBK guys show some concern over the Ninja owners atleast & service the steeds properly unlike honda showing their attitude even over the litre class owners like CB1000R etc.

                          • I thought that Honda was the one that provided the best services for bikes...! Well Yamaha certainly doesn't and bajaj and hero honda being Indian companies should be providing better service but they being typical Indian's still don't(atleast they are better in comparision)!!! None of them do!!!

                            • i feel the best and the quickest way to get your bike is serviced is doing by yourself... i have completed my all the free service and am quite sick of the SVC... so curretnly in the search of a service manual for fz.... also if you actually see the aspects of servicing there is not much to do there.... the main problem comes only when the bike starts to shut down or show bigger problems at that time you will prefer to take it to the svc...

but I still believe that Honda's A.S.S is better then what is being portrayed over here...

                              • I was also wondering about honda service, few friends with their scooters are not happy. But I guess within the warranty period you have to take the bike the to service center on time or else they wont honor their warranty.

But someone mentioned Yamaha! they provide excellent service in Pune. Maybe cause its a factory sales and service outlet.
