He might have had his news from an unreliable new source, but the news is correct.Originally posted by Andante View PostNo, it's a 250cc single. The official US price for the Honda CBR 250R is $3,999 for standard and $4,499 for ABS (which incidently is the price for the Ninja 250R there).
I checked with a dealer there, and it is on the US website too.

But logically, if it is planned to made in India, the price should be much lower for our market.

So OTR price is turning out to be a little more than what a lot of us had thought and speculated! But a competitive price nonetheless. The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

It doesn't have four cylinders, maybe you are mixing up cylinders with valves?Originally posted by ROCKRZ View PostAnother question.. if the U.S can have the 4 cyl version, why not us?? maybe cost is involved....
It has four valves per cylinder - the 250R is a single cylinder bike worldwide.

The dream I had last night -
Me, the little boy, holding dad's hand was walking down the street. I paused infront of a Honda showroom with large glass walls, inside which, a dazzling new CBR 250R was kept on paddock stand on a rotating platform, under bright fluorescent lighting. I said "Papa..." pointing towards it, along with the apt expression on face. He said "Whats it my dear..? You want that bike..?" I didnt anwer with word, but with smiles. He continued, "Ok, lets get one of those.." I was jumping up and down in joy while walking into the showroom. While I was running toward the bike, he asked again "Which colour do you want..?" and i shouted back
"RED RED.. PAPA I WANT RED.."
Man.. Its not that confusing to me. If my dream ever comes true (for which chances are not even one in a million
), I would go for Red straight ahead, with eyes closed. Its drop-dead beautiful..

Prioritize whether you can't afford or are not willing to spend extra for your 'own' safety. But then it is your money and your life, why are we advocating? Well there is a reason to it.
On a race-track and impeccably surfaced tarmac devoid of a grain of sand is where a non-ABS equipped Motorcycle shall come to a stop quicker, I think no one is arguing that whoever knows how an ABS functions.
Now, on how many occasions do you come across these scenarios especially in a tourer/street Motorcycle?
You took a lot of time to respond because you searched & searched for information which would match your POV.
BTW did Google throw up any search as to how many riders crashed an ABS equipped Motorcycle and blamed ABS for the crash? Care to share?
What do you think that Motorcycles across all variants are coming equipped with ABS. Why are manufacturers doing this? How much would they gain by selling a ABS model over a non-ABS? Our own RTR-180 is rumored to be launched with ABS. Why? Why Cars all across are sold equipped with ABS?
Any bike whether of 150cc or 1000 can do 100kmph and to brake from that point requires good skills on public roads having gravel strewn across. In India, you got cow-dung/muck and wot not at all places.
For what?
We are advocating because many young guys come to the forum and hope they don't pick some words from your argument and buy a non-ABS model and yes, few would have good braking skills as you, so they need it. As at that young impressionable age, they can easily be influenced that they are the next Doohan.
