I calculated by adding 15% to the ex-showroom prices&non ABS came up to 1.52L&C-ABS came to 1.66L OTR.
If this is true, this is killer pricing!
Trust me, Honda will make sure the calculation is even more complicated(to tilt it to a higher side)!!

Its not upto Honda to decide Road Tax and Insurance I think!

The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

                Yes i know.

But with Honda as a company which even charges extra for basic parts like a number plate, we can even expect the fairing to be an optional fitment(for an extra charge)!! j/k

Still 1.3 lakhs ex-showroom for base variant is too good to be true. Around 1.5 lakhs on-road would be a killer pricing!!

                • I'd be extra happy if the bike comes out without fairing (not even half fairing, thnx . . )

                  • Ignoring all other aspects such as handling, power delivery, reliability, features etc (i know thats a big ask), here are what the numbers will look like!

                    Bajaj pulsar 220 dts-i
                    21.04 PS at 150Kg = 0.14 PS /Kg (9.1% lesser than Honda)
                    19.12 Nm at 150kg = 0.127 Nm/Kg (8.7% lesser than honda)

Honda CBR250R (as in Italy website)
                    25.42 PS at 165 Kg = 0.154 Ps/kg
                    22.9 Nm at 165 Kg = 0.139 Nm/Kg

                    Kawasaki 250
                    33 PS at 152Kg = 0.217 Ps/Kg (40% more than honda)
                    22 Nm at 152Kg = 0.145 Nm/Kg (4.3% more than honda)

Others more patient than me can do it for bikes they like.... I am considering only the CABS installed kerb weight of 165 simply because i dont think any sane person should say no to that feature.

All this numbers to me implies that Honda is an excellent package, simply because i think they will maintain their high standards of reliability and because of the fantastic C-ABS system that should basically make it impossible to skid and fall from your bike. That feature alone is amazing and i hope some day filters down to be standard on all bikes (and cars) rather than just be an option on high end ones. All the more so in cities like blore where it keeps drizzling all the time!

I am sold! Time to start saving...

                    • why are you doing all the math when the power to weight ratio of bikes are directly available. also the 150 kg weight of 220 is the dry weight-right? the company has claimed in its web site that the 165 kg weight of the honda is with a fuull tank and all other fluids like the coolant, engine oil etc.
superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

No. 150 Kgs is the wet/kerb weight of the P220.

one of the mods that I would do is, getting rid of that big fat ugly exhaust and get a custom made one from Joel, that should reduce the weight by a good 10 kilos

2 months ago the weight written on Bajaj website is 152 kg

Well, i didnt find the ratios anywhere, its usually only the absolute numbers that are published. Maybe i didnt look in the right sites.

And all the weights quoted by manufacturer are curb weights. Another way of doing this would be to add around 70kgs-80kgs to these weights for single rider. It will result in slightly different numbers, but the trend remains the same.

If anything, switching to dry weights + fixed amount of fuel will skew it in favor of kwacker, and 220 (slightly) since they have larger tanks than the cbr.
