Wish you had joined a little early, we have discussed this to death. For us what matters is performance to price ratio, where the Ninja250 does very badly, To give you an idea In bangalore the Standard CBR costs 1.67 lakhs and the Ninja costs 3.2 lakhs, so pay another 15K over the Ninja price and you can have two CBR's for the price of a Ninja. I will give you another package deal

. I expect the Duke200 to be similarly priced as the CBR.

CBR250 + Duke200 == Price of one Ninja.

So with this you can get two bikes of contrasting characters.

PS:- We should stop taking the US of A reviews seriously, the reviews are w.r.t to the road conditions over there, where a vehicle doing speeds of 200 kph will also be called slow.

Also if outright performance is the only criteria of your purchase, if you are ready to pay for the expensive spares then the Ninja is the one to go for.

my story is similar to urs! i was always dreaming for ninja and even went to chennai to buy one! it was saturday evening and after finishing my local work in chennai(i live in madurai),had to rush to probiking showroom! i was stuck in traffic! and when i reached i could see the showroom shutters going down! i stopped the security but he would not let me in !

the next day was sunday and i had my tickets to my homeplace on sunday! i was planning to stay till monday to take ninja just when i got a call that my grandma passed away! i had to rush back!
after reaching my home i heard news abt cbr250 launch in thailand and i had a gut feeling this is the bike i was waiting for!
luckily i did not buy ninja! otherwise i would hav been cursing myself/ will be just trying to satisfy myself!
for me CBR 250 r is destiny bike!
ya ya ! i know this story sounds like bollywood story!

Ninja has two demerits too, the babe will be serviced by Bajaj ppl and another is with Bajaj's recent plans to localize the parts, the quality issues would be ineffable for sure.

From what I have heard, the service from Bajaj is top notch 10/10.

Checked with both.. Both are expecting a demo bike after 10th..
Don't think newer showrooms will have more info.. Pashankar honda has been the showroom with most no of honda bikes sold in Pune.. Also with the most number of bookings for the CBR (according to the sales guy)... So i guess they're bound to get the info first...

I beg to differ bro.. HH service is more or less pretty average.. I've been experiencing this since 2004.. No recent experience though.. cuz i shifted my bike's maintenance to Castrol Bike Zone a couple of years back.. and most recently to a friend's garage..

I had a P220 DTSfi. I know how good they are with the service. May be they become professional whenever a Ninja comes to scene. In that case, its a sheer discriminatory attempt.

Yes it is. BAL is probably afraid of Kawasaki & hence they behave like good kids on N250R. IIRC, they have a separate bay for servicing N250R. Shouldn't they do it when the alloy wheels itself costs over 23K!!!

+1. I think the bajaj service is worst.. They do nothing other than washing the bike which is also not done well. The oil they replace is also bad. Though i heard of very good service from Ninja owners..
But i have'nt heard of Good service from Honda as well..(in the showroom i booked).. i hope they improve it for the CBR or i will prefer my mechanic.

This is one statement I whole heartedly agree with you, a Honda engine will be almost fool proof, change the engine oil yourself or from your trusted mechanic, for damage to parts get them and fix it yourself or from mech.

You have just exposed the wounds

. I did not wanna drag Bajaj into here knowingly. "THE WEAKEST IS THE LOUDEST"- a perfect fit for Bajaj. Unless Bajaj takes care of its quality issues, it cant attract a wide range of bike lovers leaving behind pulsar aficionados ( many of them do not even know what does cc or bhp stand for)
