I would seriously advice ya not to book at Chennai, if you have the patience to wait till September/October then you can, Or just book outside Chennai and get it fast.

If Chennai, KUN @ Adayar and DIDAR @ Thousand Lights are good, (Sales/Service).

KUN Crossed 130's and DIDAR crossed 75's in terms of booking! Rest of the decision making will be left to you!

FZ16 is available outside India as well. It must be Indonesia I guess. And the CBR in the pic is CBR 150R.

HONDA CBR250R - 1st Visual Impression

What an unexpected turn of event it was when I happened to visit the Sterling honda showroom in PCMC pune today(I actually live in Kothrud!! )

When I just glanced the bike at a distance I just loved the way it looked.. cant discribe the feeling!! It was just amaaaazing!!

What I felt--

The Good---
1> The bike is perfectly proportioned from nose to tail..
2> The quality of paint on the fairing,tank,front mudguard and rear grey panel is great.
3> The console has good shape.
4> The front is not bulky to look as you feel in the R15 or Fazer.
5> There are very little panel gaps in the fairing and tank region.
6> The tyres are good and have good design.. They have a very round profile.
7> The way they have bend the headlight glass(actually plastic) to give a aerodynamic shape is just b beautiful..
8> At last there is an engine kill switch..(Thankgod that light bulb went off in the honda engineers head )

The Bad---
1> The black plastic quality above the rear brake light n side panels is just pathetic.. its all shaky.. its as if any could rip it off with one finger..
2> The metal part the supports the riders food at the foot peg.. the triangular one does not have such a good quality..The same part in FZ is much better.
3> The Welds are irregular on the frame.
4> Paint on the handlebar ends,grab rails and brake/clutch lever has already started to chip off..
5> On the thai bike we saw that the brakes were nissin units.. but here I saw that the brakes on this bike were of some unknown company called 'BABRE'.. starnge.. So guys who have booked the bike demand nissin brakes.. Honda cant cheat you like this just to keep prices down..

Overall the package looks well built.. Couldnt ride it though
But I am sure it will be an awesome bike to ride!!



But Let me tell you someting else that I experienced today and it left me shaking..

I took a test ride of the dazzler on old mumbai-pune road..
I took it to around a speed of 80KMPH..
As I neared the showroom I wanted to brake as my speed was around 70..
I applied the rear and front brakes.. I knew that the rear has discs so I applied gentle pressure
Even then the rear wheel locked up and the bike started swaying violently...
Somehow I controlled the bike.. But it had created a very shocking screech that everyone in the vicinity could hear..
Everyone was looking at me as if I was some wrash rider or something.. I know I am not a rash rider as I always take responsibility while riding and knew the limits of the bike..i was wearing a helmet during the test ride
But at that moment I was really left with one impression that the Honda Dazzler is not a well built bike and probably that honda should not have given a rear disc to such a light bike.. what say guys.. I think rear drums are more than enough to stop a bike like dazzler(or at least they should have given fatter tyres).. If they would have given a rear disc to the cb unicorn its would have actually been better as it has a higher kerb weight. I don't know what but after this experience I just don't like the Honda Dazzler bike guys..

I too noticed the rear part (above the tail light) to be a lil shaky, it was like how the unicorn was when it was initially launched(tick tick). But since it was only one bike which was there...did not want to draw conclusions about it.

Would be great if members from other part of city/state could confirm this .

& abt the brakes, It has been discussed to infinity . . . . . ABS version comes with Nissin & standard version comes with Babre brakes.

Because the CBR that you saw was a STD version, not the C-ABS one.. On the STD CBR, 'BABRE' brakes are available..

After a few lazy years on the sidelines I finally took the plunge and registered here a couple of days ago. All thanks to the CBR thread. And the posting rights couldn't have come at a better time. Cos I just got off the phone with Pilot Honda. Now if you don't feel like listening to a frustrated rant, skip the post right now
1st Jan, I wake up all kicked about the happiest 5000 I was gonna spend for a long time. Being from Chembur I head to Pilot Honda Chembur and finding it closed I call up their Mulund branch, confirm they were open, pay the amount and book a Black C-ABS version. The helpful guy at the store had no clue about the bike except for the displacement, but told me I was third on the list, first C-ABS and generously offered to deliver my Machine from the Chembur showroom. I told him I loved him and that he reminded me of the kid brother I never had and left there. Now this was when I thought the Black being offered was the full black they showed on the World Honda site. The minute I heard it was a two-tone I called them up to change my preference to red. Their response "no worries sir, we'll give you your preference at the time of delivery". Coming back to today's phone call. They called me to tell me that they received the first lot. Somewhere a melodious tune broke out in my head.
PH: You booked an ABS version in black.
Me: yeah about the color...
PH: Sir, we received only one ABS bike in this lot. And it's red. And we are giving it to somebody else.
Me: How is that possible. Don't I get the first right of refusal?
PH: Blah Blah Blah
Long story short. Our friend had called in on the 28th of Dec to request for a booking to be made on the 1st in a branch that was gonna be closed. So that puts him higher on the list. I was given the option of going for a silver non ABS version or waiting for the next lot. I will go practice deep breathing right now.

Thats the Yamaha Scorpio Z225, not the FZ16.. Its sold in Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil and a few other countries.. The speculated FZ250 that many are expecting will most likely have a bored out engine from this bike..

NO, It is a FZ16. Look at the headlight & tank! Even you can see the tail section.

Man O Man,this thread is moving ahead with the speed of light.The thread is crossing the 500 pages mark.Wonder what will happen to the ownership thread.
Saw the bike in flesh for the first time today.About the bike,what I must say?Awesome is the word!!!.The showroom had two CBRs,one in black and the other one in red.A first glimpse at the bike tells that it is Bigger and its road presence will be much much better.I quite didnt liked the sound of the engine,sounded a bit rough.But then the bike was inside the showroom.Will get to know better tommorow,as they had agreed to give test ride tommorow(The C-ABS one).This is possible due to one of our fellow xbhpian The Dazzler who has contacts with the Honda managers in this region.
About the bike,hmm..Honda seems to be in a hurry to top the sales chart.Initial impression shows that the welding part on joints on the frame is not neatly done.And this applies to all the CBR bikes as many guys here had saw this earlier.Paint quality and finishing on the handlebar was not upto the mark.This same thing was seen on the R15 too.And the rear black plastic panel above the tail lamp just moves up and down when pressed with little force.I have a video of this,if you guys want to see it,I will upload it.I crossed checked it with the other bike and the panel moves there too.Even the HONDA written on the rear panel is a stickered job,not embossed.This was the least I expected from Honda.Rest all was superb as stated by our members a few pages back.The saree guard is a real eye-sore on this bike.Doesnt go well with the bike.I would say Bajaj had cleverly designed the saree guard on Ninja and that was a neat one.The brakes were of Brembo brand BYBRE which are doing duty on the P220s.The C ABS come loaded with the Nissin brakes.Headlight focus might be good as it features a 55W halogen lamp.
Clicked a few pics but will not upload them as they are too common in this thread now.The showroom guys said they had registered around 75 bookings and the first delivery of the without CABS version is tommorow.
Now will comment further after test ride tommorow.

Went to the gurgaon showroom to check out the much awaited CBR.
Before i write any of it, the fanatics on this page should realize petrol is becoming increasingly rare to waste on burning me. You can instead feed me chocolate and make me suffer a cardiac.

The clip on bars is kind of disappointing, to say the least. I mean the Comet looked well put together in front of it. And that is a Hyosung for crying out loud.
I really like the centre Tacho design. I don't know how good it will be in the day time to read odo and trip and speed on that piddly little thing at the bottom, but i still like it. The tacho at the centre is so porsche cool.

The engine the panels, the alloys and the rest of the basic stuff looked very well put together.

Another disappointment were the foot rests/pegs. The ones on ZMR look better manufactured to me.

The levers also were not oozing quality.

But here is the thing, and i hope that will prevent the fanboys running after me with cans of petrol, with the moderators in tow, most of the stuff that i don't like or looks a bit cheap is what can be replaced over the years. Foot pegs, levers, even those really ugly looking indicators are the stuff that will be there in aftermarket catalogues and since this is a world bike am guessing it will be there soon. The engine, the alloys, the tyres, the seating position (which i think is close to perfect), are all good. The rest is personal choice and can be changed as and when required.

Also i found it to be a tad bit long for my liking, i was expecting it to be smaller, but that is just me, the rest of you i think prefer a little bigger looking bike.
So i think by the looks of it Honda has a winner, even if it is not a typically Honda quality product.

P.S: the sound was ok. Not good or bad. Nowhere close to the awesomeness that is a RTR or disappointment that is almost every hero honda.

i am kinda not in a mood to book now... but in a "wait for bajaj's response" mood. This many comments on quality is putting me off.. 500 Pages. woo
