2 lakhs is still a great deal for the C-ABS CBR250R.

Anything below 2L would do justice

@crusader - dude, just think about it...Honda is setting up their third plant (2nd is planned in Rajasthan) in A.P. So, can't we expect that plant to do CKD for all Honda bikes >200 cc? In that case, is it justified to think of a price beyond 1.5L? But again, that's my wish-cum-opinion. Reality could be different, man...

Considering the establishment of new Honda plants in India, i still feel there is going to be a 1.6 lakh Rupee price announcement!

Come on guys! 2L for a proper 250cc, with abs is a great deal for the cbr. i doubt if yamaha will offer abs or other goodies on its revamped r15. Most importantly, we dont even know the new r15s new price nor any speculation about it. And not to forget things which get to India will be little more priced than their foreign counterparts.

The CBRs got a great sticker price.

@myg124: I have thought always if foreign brands are at all allowed to come to our Indian market, they should put the price sticker at par with the respective category of Indian makes. In that case the competition gets stronger...technology & innovation also gears up high...like a boost for Indian techos in motorcycle design & manufacturing...

P.S. - In UK, the CBR250R is priced at 3999 GBP ~ 2,80,000 INR. So, this time here it's going to be cheaper. Again that depends on the market, as I said above.

what do you mean by "proper" 250 ? Is Pulsar 220 , ZMA not proper 220 ? What is so special about CBR250R ? Consider if the ZMR consisting of Honda engine selling at 1 lakh. Add a slightly better engine ( 25 more CC's and much better torque and power) , non ABS version still looks overpriced at 1.5 lakh. Think logically , this bike has got a single cylinder engine so should it sell way over ZMR ? Just because CBR tag attached to it does not make it worth 2L .Non ABS version should sell under 1.5L .

I think we should start a poll. At what price would you buy the CBR250R? I would save up if its less than 1.5 lakh! Anything over that and I would rather upgrade to the Bajaj 220F

since the bike will be manufactured locally, i think the price is on the higher side
also i feel we should wait for the official price announcement, since honda officials have themselves said that the price will be "Much Lower Than 1 lakh 50 thousands"

What I mean by a proper 250cc is its a 249cc engine and NOT 220, or 223 which we have been living on all these years. Its a full 249 cubic centimeters of fun and NOT 30 or 20cc less for your info mate, A quarter liter. nothing more nothing less.

With regards to power and torque..it matches the ninja with regards to power, a few bhp less, one can live with that. unless you are going to treat your daily commute as a track day:P out and out.

yes we all miss a v-twin here, an inline 4 250cc but what Hondas offering us is one bike to the world, almost same specs all around the globe. Well if that doesnt cater to you then please jump on the sbk bandwagon my mate or get yourself a Ninja.

just because the CBR tag is attached to it does not make it worth 2L?? Well, let the bike roll onto the roads and then see. That will be the best answer.

coming to ABS...its been subjective but YES is useful and in all the conditions we ride these days its better to injure a limb than loose one. After having shelled out 1.5, one wouldnt really mind paying 30 more to get something like that. 1.5 is overpriced? Damn! you are the man. Please offer me a good deal on the cbr then

Each and every special series of motorcycles have their own royalty as well for design. (Yamaha's R series, Suzuki's GSX Series, & Honda's CBR series)

On a business point of view which is much competing with 250cc-300cc segment I Dont think anything below 1.5L is on the cards...Hopefully I might even turn true ..lets Wait and see..fingers crossed

u might be right...but that's the fun in CKD, right!!! You can cut your production cost & employ new techniques in the mauf.-line...anyway we have to wait till Feb to hear what's true...wish at least Hyosung could bring something cheap to compete with Honda...
