Answer... plenty... people don't discard bikes like disposable pens or whatever... for many (including me), their bike grows on them... they would rather work on what they have then discard the bike just because something newer and cheaper came along... also the Honda has to catchup to 1000 Ninjas and over 50,000 approx (3 years production) R15s before it can become 'more common'... and that can take about 2 years...Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Well tbh, the Ducati's competed with the likes during its time and they didn't have, or should i say none of the companies wanted to rethink their chassis because they thought tweaking power would make all the difference. If you really know how much difference the 'design' of a motorcycle with minimal changes to the engine would make then watch this YouTube - One Man's Dream: The Britten Bike Story . The movie's name is One Man's Dream: The Britten Bike Story. Download it and watch it. In fact the discovery show of the world's best motorcycles(the one you have linked) has this bike amongst its best. The Ducati might have taken the world by 'storm' but this bike was a V-twin too which destroyed its competitors in its time. Ninja will win anyday in an upbeat against CBR250R.
Just because the CBR250 is a Honda,we are thinking so much about it!!!!
A similar output is also delivered by the Mahindra Mojo.............and I don't think there was much of this talk about it.
The only bike available at low price that can defeat Ninja in outright performance is an old RD350.
People planning to sack Ninja250,get a second hand RD,soup it up by spending 50 to 60 grands ,and all within 1.25lacs you can smoke a 3 lac bike top to bottom.................now that is called performance.

I was just conveying the words of Joel... I trust him. If he says, R15 (Joel's modded) can smoke Ninja, that means it can, why ? Because any one likes it or not, Joel knows what he is talking.. He is no trash talker for sure.
PS: I don't care if a 100CC bike smokes R15, i enjoy how it behaves with me and at my age, i don't need bi**h, i just enjoy her in the weekend, rest you can find me on my lousy battery vehicle while going to office.

I just read the link provided by @harryhunt7, the mileage seems to be pretty good for a new bike 32 to 35 kmpl. 32kmpl under hard riding is very good that too with a pillion. I am very very happy.
Mileage...that is what my R15 gives, on hard riding that too without a pillion-32-34kmpl.
Otherwise it returns about 38-40kmpl.
I wish they had given the Honda a bigger tank though. Its very much needed for a sports tourer.
