PS: Vishwas has TD'd both the bikes, so chill! He talks from his experience of the bikes.
Then again, you guys should read the 'good' reviews on the last issue. Heck even the video in which Pune's very resident expert NV was praising the bike, and he too had a short ride of the bike and had not mentioned it being too vibey!
I think Pune TD thing was a disaster for Garware... I strongly think that they gave a fudged bike to the members for TD, without bothering to check it. They perhaps thought they would get away with it by the so called 'dhoom effect' but......!
+1 to the bold part. I guess the other guys got the TR on a red / black one (Even the auto journos..). Me and Rockerz took the TR on a different day on a different (white) bike. A couple of days before the TR... I had an argument over the vibes on the GT thread with someone. When I finally happened to take the TR 2 sundays back, I was specifically checking for high RPM vibes just so that I can comment here properly. And to be truthful.. I clearly felt the vibes subside over 6.5k RPM. It was pleasurable all the way upto the revlimiter (at 9.5k). I hit the rev-limiter from around 6k around 6-7 times just to find out and confirm this. But because it was basically a short ride.. this is all I could manage. Because the vibes were limited to the range 6-6.5k RPM.. it could be resonance vibes and so pardonable.

So I guess we can safely conclude from this that the GT650R can be a a very vibey bike if it is ripped apart and not maintained properly. However if you take care.. The vibes are more like liveable.

P.S.: There was also some hot air blowing on my thighs from the engine... but since my ride was basically a 4km rev limiter to revlimiter affair.. they were due to the high engine speeds.(But Reduced a bit due to the high speeds though). But I guess It can get quite hot if ridden in bumper to bumper traffic.(Obviously)

P.P.S.: From what I (care to) remember I have my doubts that the GT650R engine revs till 11k
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                  • Any price indication on the bike yet? Hoping it to be in the same ball park as the GT.
