I think the faired 390 will be released 6 months after the naked. The naked will be released in india for sure as their website already says 'Coming soon to india'. I hope for the faired 390 to be a complete track focused ride. It'd kill ninja 300's sales if priced around 2.5L.

absolutely...Ninja 300 will easily touch 4lacs on road whereas Honda's 500's will easily touch 5lacs+...Fully faired Duke 390 will definitely make inroads in sales of the two Jap biggies. And if it's really priced at 2.5 lacs, it can also hurt the CBR250 to some extent, specially the ABS version...However, twin addicts will still prefer the Japs...I don't have a twin cylinder bike but would prefer one even if it sets me back by more money...Singles just won't do it for me anymore but that's an entirely personal opinion...Originally posted by pcgamer View PostI think the faired 390 will be released 6 months after the naked. ^^What difference does one notice when riding a parallel twin apart from the exhaust note when compared to a high powered single? I know the fun of inlines. But want to know more about parallel twins. In what way would a 40hp parallel twin be more enjoyable than say, a 50hp single in general?

Not sure if 500 will go above 5 lacs. if honda is serious about selling them in good nos. it should be below 4 lacs.Originally posted by The One View Postabsolutely...Ninja 300 will easily touch 4lacs on road whereas Honda's 500's will easily touch 5lacs+...Fully faired Duke 390 will definitely make inroads in sales of the two Jap biggies. single cylinders usually are more torquey, and have lower redlines. twins can rev higher. both have pluses and minuses. I think biggest single out there is duke 690. so obviously singles have a limit how far they can go. in my personal preference, for lower capacity bikes I would prefer a single as it will make bike light weight and narrow with similar power figures. for higher displacement i would prefer twin.Originally posted by pcgamer View Post^^What difference does one notice when riding a parallel twin apart from the exhaust note when compared to a high powered single? I agree with the selling point but below 4lacs for a 500cc twin Honda is unlikely. That's the territory of new Ninja 300 and Honda will be significantly costlier than that.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostNot sure if 500 will go above 5 lacs. if honda is serious about selling them in good nos. it should be below 4 lacs.

Yes, twins don't make much sense on a small capacity bike. Even the Ninja250 is not really a big bike but because it has two cylinders, it revs higher, has higher topend & cruising speed(than a 250 single) & is smoother specially at high speeds. 390 Duke will be a killer to ride and guys like me who are desperate to get over riding singles may also buy one if the product is good VFM. Initial reviews says that the 390 has a topspeed of 170km/hr which is good enough for Indian highways. And then there's the ballistic power/weight ratio of the KTM'Strength is measured in pounds.

But honda CBR500R has undercut ninja 300 in uk market by a fair margin. both are exported there from Thailand i guess. both are facing same duty structure ... no reason why they can't do it here as well especially if some parts are manufactured here.Originally posted by The One View PostI agree with the selling point but below 4lacs for a 500cc twin Honda is unlikely.
