Re: Bajaj Pulsar 200NS to get Fuel Injection?: xBhp News
Guys lets drop the HALs (rather it's not needed).
Lets talk about P200NS alone,
The ultimate question is, would one get one with FI?
My own opinion is, we already have P200 NS with FI present in India and it's called Duke 200.
India is all about controversies, people first cried rivers because Bajaj made Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 very identical. Now people are crying for P200NS not being identical to Duke 200.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 200NS to get Fuel Injection?: xBhp News
FI would not increase the price by that much difference, only by a 1000 or two. The reason NS is not selling much is due to poor marketing by Bajaj, I have had friends in college buying P220s and when they ride a P200NS, they starts regretting their decision to buy the P220.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostYeah, HAL does make good showpieces for museums and from the name of this, I think it must be a garden or a park edition.
I do completely understand your arguments, FI is very well known and it really doesn't need to prove itself.
Coming back to topic, people voting here for FI, voted mainly because they heard good things about FI. Not even 1% of them are going to buy this bike.
For me? I like P200NS very much. I'm in love with this bike. I very much want this bike to live on. Right now Pulsar 200NS is really struggling in sales. I haven't seen the numbers but from the roadscene I can easily guess, P180, P220 with their ancient technology are beating P200NS hands down. Now once they plonk FI into 200NS, the prices will also be raised by 10-12k. And that my dear friend, in India, will make struggling Pulsar 200NS a complete dud (as in super flop product). I want Pulsar 200NS to live and that's why it should stay away from FI.
P200NS is only one of the two bikes above 1 lac which is a mainstream product (the other being R15). Niche products like Dukes and CBR can go flop themselves in India and still no harm will cause to the manufacturers. But when a mainstream product behaves like a niche, it sure piles up tons of losses for the manufacturer. And from a bajaj shareholder's point of view I really wouldn't like to see that happen.
So there you go, with all my heart and brains, I really don't want Pulsar 200NS to get FI for India.
Also, Bajaj should have put some "crowd attracting" feature in the bike, like projectors. They could have installed ABS and market it like no skidding bike, it would have sold a lot then. EDIT: Edited the part of the message, and sent it via PM, due to confidentiality issues.
There are only handful of identical things between the NS and Duke, they are the bore and stroke, oil filter, water pump. Bajaj could have made the engine without the help of KTM too, but being Indian they thought it would be better to buy stakes in KTM than investing money in R&D.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostIndia is all about controversies, people first cried rivers because Bajaj made Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 very identical. Bajaj always plays games like this, first they introduce a bike, and market it as if they have put space age technology in it, then after some time vehicle sales starts to drop, then they either discontinue the vehicle or bring it with other name with 4valves and this or that, same case is happening with this bike first they lauched duke 200 with a different name ns, now they are fitting it with Fi, which again is an straight lift from duke, but why to purchase duplicate product when you can buy original ktm, secondly whenever they launches this ns with fi it's price will be at par with Duke.

Check it out how many holes drilled in a cylinder head of a poor bike....in the name of technology.

As long as it doesn't make a hole in the pocket its fineOriginally posted by avhad sitaram View PostThree holes for spark plugs and four for four valves. .....already seven in that.
:-)
I feel Fi might help increase the sales of the bike...it should be launched soon and with negligible price increase

The four valves include the exhaust so its totally 7 holes .Originally posted by kusmaker View PostPlus to it one more for exhuast and the tally goes to 8, what next let's wait and watch.
And yeah the third spark plug is quite outrageous.
While Bajaj markets the bike with tech the hero moto says nothing much instead says some fancy words ATFT and builds a simpler engine to rock the world .
Simple and durable engines would be more successful than complex stuff that goes wrong often (primarily due to bad quality not technology).
The reason that bajaj still exist is not because of their tech, brand image ,reliability or mileage its because almost all bikes from bajaj are extremely fun to ride when compared to other boring bikes .Hope NS Fi is even more fun and at least a small section will get benefitted .Last edited by Giftonsamuel; 10-03-2014, 05:43 PM.
