LOL i posted that in January, 2013 man..Originally posted by DukeDey View PostWe can be very sure that its not the rc 390 by looking at the tank and speedo console. They have been borrowed from the 200 ns. And no way the rc 390 is going to use them.
Regarding the colors, they are all the colors the 200 ns comes in, another proof that the bike is a pulsar and most probably the bike won't come this colorful. Its only to check the shades I guess.

Interesting, While comparing picking a 40year old Yamaha and 7 year old Bajaj is not very good idea. Very unprofessional. Time is changing rapidly.
Today Chakkan plant is rolling out a single cylinder 4s bike of similar displacement (like RD 350), but few differences are there, more power handling which is light years ahead and modern equipment.
Personally I feels that its an achievement.
Interestingly last big pulsar have a perimeter frame like R15.
See what is today, and analyses, that makes sense.
These are nothing to take away from Yamaha or the legend RD. Please don't say that Indian RD was detuned etc etc. That is not my point.
(Meanwhile Yamaha have to come back strong, currently R1 is probably the slowest 1L ss bike there. A very young RC8R manages more ponies at rear wheel. Off topic, just a current era truth)

The discussion has been concluded long back so no point starting it again. Clearly you have not understood regarding what the comparison was made. 40 yrs old? Does the SI unit system or CGS system of measurement change with time? Point was made that even though engine of rd was heavier, weight was lesser. Points like discs on 220/ns and the radiator and all can also be considered as to why its heavier.Originally posted by kochumvk View PostInteresting, While comparing picking a 40year old Yamaha and 7 year old Bajaj is not very good idea. An RD(indian) weighs 155kg wet
reference here
A p220 weighs 150 kg wet
reference here
So the pulsar in discussion is 5kg lighter.
In SI and CGS I learned its the same. Basically we need to do some basic facts check once in a while.
note: this I am saying is based on the acceptable sources provided. Just wanted to say something was mis understood.
Lets get back to the 375!

Guys.. can we please stop comparing RD 350 and Pulsar.. They both Are amazing.. Both bikes are good.. its just.. at that time people did not have much options apart from RD and RE.. but there are plenty of options.. so.. we cannot compare them.. Please for God's sake.. lets shift our focus towards P375.. I think that is going to be legend.Originally posted by kochumvk View PostAn RD(indian) weighs 155kg wet

Most probably the P375 will look like a P220 with full fairing but with fuel tank like 200NS. Wonder what kind of engine have they developed for this and it will not be exciting if they just make a bigger bore of existing ones. Hey, what if its a twin? I mean, does any desi company have the technology to make a decent twin?

But is our market mature enough for a twin? Agreed that biking is swiftly changing but I doubt about a twin as early as now.Originally posted by sparky View PostMost probably the P375 will look like a P220 with full fairing but with fuel tank like 200NS. Bajaj can partner with Kawasaki for developing a Twin engine but is Bajaj willing to take that risk. Developing twin engine will cost a lot of money. Considering we have only four desi companies I don't think a pure desi developed twin engine will happen anytime soon.Originally posted by sparky View PostMost probably the P375 will look like a P220 with full fairing but with fuel tank like 200NS. Speaking about risk, a lot of companies has dropped their balls altogether in taking risks. RD350 was a huge risk for Yamaha. When it was introduced in 1970 it has parallel twin, disk brake, oil injection, 6 speed gear box etc. Yamaha invested lots of money in RD350 but it was world wide success for 15 years. Every legendary bike or car is a result of risk taking by the company. Pulsar classic, RTR 150, R15 v1, Duke200 are all those success examples.. Nowadays every company wants a minimum guarantee product that keeps them in business..

re: Pulsar 350/375 Spy pics: xBhp News
Twins is not going to happen anytime soon for any Indian company.. as if now..Bajaj is following KTM for their engines with slight tweaking in it which is ahead of all Indian companies at this momenet.. Its not a Desi company cannot make twin engine right now.. its just that Indian crowd is not yet ready.. we are just handful of people who are on XBHP and only handful of people in India know how to drive responsibly... but think of reckless kids who have hell lot of money in their fathers pocket.. what will they do with high powered twin engines and that too if bikes are at affordable prices.. and that is where the majority of crowd is... and in India.. Movies also promote unsafe riding.. Hero riding without helmet.. so.. that reflects on people minds when they sit on bikes like that and then become a timebomb..Originally posted by sparky View PostMost probably the P375 will look like a P220 with full fairing but with fuel tank like 200NS.
