Maybe this could also be a reason why Hero is delaying high powered bike to get it accustomed to our Indian styles.
Its the same thought that keeps haunting. Am a student but somehow higher cc machines do not fascinate me like how they do to others. Reasons are pretty obvious. With rising fuel costs, ill be spending way more cash on fuel, that I will not be able to enjoy the ride throughly. And also the traffic keeps increasing with time that I think the bike can be enjoyed only on highways for touring like how rreneav1987 said. So unless I become a millionaire that I don't bother about fuel costs, 250cc itself is high enough for me!!
And I bet hero knows that there are fewer people in that category and hence it is waiting for the right time to introduce it, probably by studying the stats of pulsar and ktm!!

Glad that there are like-minded members out here. And your comment in italics above could be a valid reason for the delay.

Dont know why some people here think that honda will make a 100cc bike with 120kmph top speed, 120+ mileage and they will price it under 45000rs/-

All that is not possible mate.. riding a bike.at 40kmph might give you that fig. But not while riding it at 100kmph.. those are.standard testing conditions which no one follows nor it is easy to follow..

Well, hero is the only brand which gives negative info about its products. In Bangalore, upon enquiry of the mileage of zmr, they say its 30-35 and occasionally its 40. But we know its always 40-50. That's why fewer people are buying it I guess.
Other companies claim higher figures but I dont know what's with hero

Not exactly true. There some ZMA that give mileage below 30 also, but there are few that give near to 50 also.

My first Xtreme used to give 58kmpl, and second used to give 47kmpl ( it had bad run in though)

The ZMA's were known to give poor milegae, sometimes even 25kmpl if you ride hard but with the introduction of ZMR the mileage issue was sorted.
The ZMR's really give a real world mileage of 38-45kmpl. (Courtesy: Honda's much acclaimed PGM-FI)
Why 2wheels over 4.....

1st gen ZMA had a more aggressive mapping. It accelerated like mad. Later versions of the ZMA, dubbed as ZMA-R had a softer mapping. This resulted in 35ish mileage there on.
