I totally agree with yu sir.
It looks too odd from side view,
Hope they get some inspiration from ducati multistrada/ triumph tiger/benelli TRK502 and replace that tiny front fender n round sigle unit headlamp!

Its like love at first sight,
Im waiting to see it with fi, Abs, twin headlamps

Don't do it, mate. After your ultra reliable ZMR, this lies on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Imho round headlamp is not looking cool on it..RE may use square headlamp something like old hero honda bike..Then it will look perfect.

Last weekend me and @[email protected] were hanging around the Xbhp dhaba and decided to go to the nearby RE showroom in Saket.
I felt that the bike possessed good build quality. Some observations -

                  1) The pillion footpeg assembly is welded to the frame and will probably bend if the bike falls -

                  2) The tank and the pannier carriers, plus the headlight assembly is all metal and seems to be bolted together well. Should not have rattles.
The bash plate looked a bit thin though. Note the cross-spokes at the hub, I think this is to provide more durability or easier replacement or something.

                  3) A ground clearance of 220 mm as per brochure is combined with a rather low seat height, I felt like I was sitting on my pulsar or something-

                  4) Instrumentation looking very Triumph-esque -

Showroom personnel said test rides start on March 17, will give it a try for sure. Can't buy it yet though, keeping 3 bikes is very difficult.

Nice post. Thanks for the pic. I am also looking forward for this bike. I have a few questions.

                    1. When you said saket? Which place do you mean?

                    2. You said it felt like sitting on a pulsar. Do you mean it is uncomfortable?

                    3. And how did you find ergonomics.? The riding postion and back position.

I too look forward to riding it one day.

You all know this is the one of the reason why our Indian Motorcycle Market is so afraid of introducing new ranges and breed of motorcycles. Because even we as Biker have a negative impact of few Brands and their few Models, which we are never gonna overcome even if its the best.

We all know nothing is 100% perfect, but haven't we lived so far. I love the Himalayan, and hell yes I want it to succeed. Why - because atleast RE introduced this breed which will be good for tourers . A person like me who has gone to Lahaul & Spiti on R15 twice, would be the happiest to have a bike like Himalayan, to continue my adventurous touring in Hills. Ofcourse I will have to spend around 2 to 3k kms on it before I venture out for adventure. But yes this Bike looks very nice and practical.
I will be happy if people criticize and dont like it. Tha would mean lesser number of orders for it. That also means i would be getting one earlier.

Just a positive way to look! I dont care what others say about it. I am personally in love with it.

                        1. When you said saket? Which place do you mean? -> There is an RE showroom in the Select CityWalk mall, Saket (Edit: I see that you are in Thane, Saket is a locality in Delhi)

                        2. You said it felt like sitting on a pulsar. Do you mean it is uncomfortable? -> No I meant that the seat height is low. I have test-ridden a Tiger 800XC, now that bike you have to be careful on. This one felt just like a regular bike.

                        3. And how did you find ergonomics.? The riding postion and back position. -> Back is upright and so are the footpegs. Handlebars fall comfortably in reach. A neutral and open position which will help when riding for many hours.

I too look forward to riding it one day.

Thanks a tonne. For me the primary thing to consider in a bike is the riding position. And ofcourse some power. And some looks. And a good brand too. :P lol I sound like a girl, when asked about ideal man.

Mutual expectations from every first ride expertise of the Himalayan.

                                1. 5-10ps extra power
                                2. Better front brakes with Abs (not an issue though)
                                3. Slightly taller handle bar (just to manage better while standing on the pegs)
                                Ride Safe!

                                Cheers,
