    re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!

hehe good you caught it!! I wrote that coz While I love the GT to be a all new bike by RE I was little put down that they didn't get a new engine out along with it. & most probably the love & affection given to the himalayan will be a lot more than the GT! .

Tanay good catch, RE should be more careful when shooting for the Promos. I am sure they would have gone ahead and rectified the issue.

          re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!

This video is drawing a lot of flak on visordown already. Though I abhor RE bikes, but can't help but feel a bit embarrassed going through the comments section.
And know what, a lot of people had shown some interest in this pocket friendly realistic adv bike

Does Royal Enfield Himalayan promo video raise questions about build quality?

Remember the RC390 promo videos? Now imagine those videos showing the bike getting it's front rim chipped or may be coolant overflowing.
Very Sad RE. What a shame!

"Royal Enfield spokesman confirmed we are seeing the peg snap in the video and said: 'This was a very early prototype which we were happy to test to the point of breakage."

Yup, we better wait. Let them test every part to breakage, with the initial batch [emoji5]

That means parts/batch were not tested on UTM before putting them on the proto? Or the designer was stupid to have designed not upto the requirements.
So in a way RE is saying they put on whatever they can lay their hands on if its a proto.

                  re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!

I would prefer to wait till product launch before start bashing on RE and Himalayan. May be RE marketing guys goofed up. Or it could be that they decided to look the other way as they paid big monies to CS Santosh, and did not want to waste editing on a big air shot. Otherwise, from a customer point of view, that video did give me goosebumps. Did you see the air Santosh was pulling before he broke that footpeg?
If I'm a prospective customer, then I would be not too worried as of yet, because I most probably would intend to use the Himalayan as an Adv-Endurance and highway machine than a Motocross/ freestyle machine (so no big air).
I have a feeling however for most prospective customers, they would be looking for comfortable highway crunching as primary objective, with its off-road capabilities being secondary.

Not necessarily. We had reports of footpeg failures in production version of Dukes also with normal riding. Further, I may not be aware of full story, but I think it is still not clear if the connecting bolt of foot peg sheared or if the peg itself broke off.

You have to give re credit that they have built a adv bike. In a month all the reviews will be out. Rest after all is said and done. There will be a waiting period for the Himalayan. My friend a loyal RE fan is waiting for the Initial review to make up his mind on buying the Himalayan.

The bike which was shown in the video with C.S riding, was a test mule bike. RE has recently developed and even improved their quality a lot. So dont worry these things will be rectified and they would definitely do the needful.

But did you notice in the video why C.S.Santosh is the man for motocross- the shift of weight from right foot to left was done instantly and he did not even let the balance of the bike get disturbed, thats some serious skill.
