re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!
I still remember during the launch of continental gt Mr.Siddhartha Lal said that royal enfield needs to be modified by the customers to ones personal liking. But we don't have that kind of resources or part manufacturers such as Harley Davidson, which has modified parts available of the shelf by manufacturer and other established sources too.
My point being Royal Enfield please launch all the required accessories for the adventure tourer bike yourself, rather then just saying to the customer "go search yourself we only sell bikes and over charged jackets and helmets".
Take your time like mahindra did and provide all the accessories at the time of launch and not after launch in near future(which means a year or two).
I am really keen on purchasing this bike as it looks business and I won't be jumping of a ramp, but India has taken up lots of projects like smart city and recently they have been developing new highways which means constructions and detours from highway into not highway. I really need this bike asap.

re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!
I was expecting some sort of excitement and numerous posts on this thread but their are hardly 10-12 new posts which is shocking. I feel people here are underestimating new RE. In fact hardcore Bulletiers are also not there to discuss or contribute something. Overall RE has launched a good product with very good features like long travel suspensions on both ends, informative speedometer, lots of luggage space, high ground clearance, good pillion seat, wind shield, dual purpose tires and an all new engine. Here are some good shots:

re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!
The motorcycle looks amazing, but hopefully like traditional RE it is not a rust magnet, my main reason behind not acquiring a RE was rust problem.
RE finally bringing in a great product and hopefully RE fans don't put it down just because it doesn't have a RE thump and its not traditional RE.
Really excited about this product and more than I was with the cafe racer.

re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!
Not to belittle anybody, but most people here would take a glance at spec sheet and be like "Pfft.... RE is a joke, 24.5hp from 410cc, while Duke does 44 from 390cc"... Rest of the package doesn't matter.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI was expecting some sort of excitement and numerous posts on this thread but their are hardly 10-12 new posts which is shocking. re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled!
All motorcycles meant for long trips / relaxed riding do not offer great numbers but its the way torque comes early and stays for mos part of the band is the mantra.
All motorcycles sold to racing enthusiasts offer higher numbers only on abnormally high rpms. I wonder how many people would actually keep dukes @10000rpm all the time.

I don't see anything wrong with 25bhp , after all 8 bhp 3 wheelers have been transporting 1500kg loads at over 50kmph. I am sure 25 bhp can keep up with offroad needs provided torque comes in early.
