Dear XBHP members plzz tell me how BAJAJ PULSAR220 DTS-i performs after 100kmph.Im really impressed by R15's performance after 100 Its really faster than my DTSFi.Plzz let me know u have tested the bike to its full extent im really intrested in R15 & 220 DTSi comparo

I really hope Bike India magazine do a R15 vs p220 shootout. That ll be one interesting read.

Yea rohit the R15 was my original choice but the Big carb and the VFM offred by the P220 is somthing that making me change my mind and also the touring potential of p220 is drawing me more towards it. On the highway Cubic capacity really counts I feel. The R15 is aprox 30k more expensive than the p220 and that a lotta money for me. So if the P220 handles upto my expectations I am gonna go for it, if not spend more time saving for the r15.

Auto Service behind Monopet bus stop (BSK II Stage) but that's only service. PBK is only in Khivraj at Kasturba Road and Indiranagar (near the flyover).

Do you mean the Airport rd flyover? Where exactly? Also popular mptors in Jayanagar are a Bajaj dealer right I had picked up my p180 from them back in 02. Maybe i can go there as well for a p220 test ride.

Auto Service is only a SVC and not a dealer. So u cant test ride bikes.

I meant the one in 7th block I think that is 32nd cross. Well asd I said cant wait for saturday. Khivraj surelly have 220s I happened to glance at one tuesday afternoon there but the GF would not let me stop.

Hi guys, i have been the quietly watching and reading almost all the posts about P220 DTSi and Fi and finally made the decision.
Just booked my P220 DTSi RED yesterday afternoon.
There was one thing bothering me after the test ride,

Does the P220 DTSi really has a faulty carb?

During the ride(which was very short), there was a very sudden jump in the Pick up at the second gear after opening the throttle, though this was a test bike its still disturbing.
Is this related to the faulty carb leakage or something?

Could this be atributed to the Auto choke? Experts please advise!?!

yes guys fuel gauge is not working perfectly. it just fluctuates now and then. but i am checking mileage tank full to tank full only. anyhow this time will check when it reaches reserve.

first its was 2500 when i got 25kmpl. now its some where in the middle of 1000-1500. no starting problem or rpm raise. will check the mileage again in a while.

I am getting 35 kmpl approx but that is riding below 5000 rpm. Should reduce after I open her up.

open her up?? it'l take lot off time for a engine to open up buddy..
may be 4000kms.. or 3000kms.. or some other figures..
it also depends upon how you drive..
Personally, i cant wait uptill that time..
will rip it soon after first service..
service engineer(balaji) said, don rip the engine uptill you complete 2000kms.. and 35-38kmpl is more realistic.. i guess, we will get 30kmpl surely(after rippin the engine)..

Apart from Khivraj no one sells the P220. Popular don't even sell the P200! Popular is one useless showroom dude.. don't buy there.
