This way you can shunt the growth of the performance segment and continue selling the latest Splendours and Passions. (Aren't those dies too old?) I also see that you have thrown a .5 bhp insult at them as a bonus! You do know how your loyal fans will go gaga at this increase and point to them the inherent power of the engine. And the general population will simply go mad at the "Hayachusa" fairing. How thoughtful of you to cater to the demands of the posers. And I know too how you will sneer at those pesky xBhpians a month down the line and say - "Didn't I say this was exactly what Indian bikers wanted". If by some freak chance, this bike does not generate sales as anticipated, you always can bring down the price by a couple of grands and slap on some garish colours (isn't pink the new black?) as a bonus. Isn't that the real reason for the price hike? Also, you have to gather the funds for that Hrithik Roshan dance show, oops ad? Sure, we understand. So, this bike can stay on for a couple of years more and destroy the well deserved reputation the original Zma has, just like you did with the original CBZ. Finally thing will come a full circle.

Ofcourse, this is all business. Who am I fooling? It is evident that HH just doesn't care about building a reputation in the performance segment. And the R15 suddenly looks much VFM! If not for anything else, thank you HH for just that.
Man thtz quite a lot words...but guess you are justified from the bike looks and stuff....

      • I hope they r giving tubeless tyres on the bike, tubed tyres are a real pain, the bike should be more refined and there should be a bump in fuel efficiency also, lets read about the bike reviews by various magazines on how the Bike performs, HH could have done a lot better with the looks, the old ZMA/ZMA R is one of the most beautiful Bikes

          • I think the ZMR will still be the Tourers Choice anyday!!..not a R-15 or anything else in this price bracket...I think most people will agree with this!!??...

I mean, if someone doesn't like the new ZMR, that's his/ her PoV. "Reporting" that post won't prompt me to go ahead and delete it or take any action against the said member. Coming to the most important part of the bike...obviously... Zma mill + PGMFi ...will blow away the competition in terms of engine refinement and even smoother power delivery....plus the bike will become bit more fuel-efficient than the carb Zma-R.

Pricing if true is bit higher side, but it's kind of justfied if we see additions like (additional cost only)
                  1. PGMFi (say Rs.10000),
                  2. Rear dics (say Rs.2000)
                  3. Clip-ons(say Rs.500)
                  4. Console(say Rs.3000),
                  5. GRS (say Rs.500),
                  6. Front fairing/headlight/Full fairing (say it's worth Rs.6,000)
                  7. etc etc
All adds roughly to 22K on which price is quoted....

Mind you guys...these will be of top notch quality (not imported from III rate Chinese/Taiwanese company)

                  HH fanboy!!!..

                      • i agree that most of the disappointment may come from over expectations . Person including me expected much more since it is the new version after 6 years and now the market offers much high powered machines at lower cost. When the Karizma was launched in 2003 it was a revolution since HH bravely took one step ahead of others by giving the bike 17 bhp so obviously we expected such a bold step from the HH this time too .
SInce they didnt upgraded for last 6 years we all thought they are not doing an upgrade since once they do it they want to create another history. All expectations in vain . OK leave all those stuff
HH had the responsibility of understanding the basic necessities of a premium customer when they launch a bike in this category.

i would have been not this much disappointing if they provided At least
1.Projector Headlights and 2.Tubeless fatter tyres at this price.
Not even that . This is too much ...

The bike may be performing smoother and crisper and may become the best tourer in india but HH have nothing to do with it since the engine is from Honda.
The only thing i found attractive is the engine relability and that is from honda .
HH once agin proved that even after so much years of experiance they are a BIG ZERO without Honda..

                        Shame on you ..

                          Precisely my point.

Besides, let it atleast come on the road, read a few road-tests, take a few test rides if possible, and THEN give the final verdict, I say. Just saying 'the looks suck', based on a few pictures is not really justified. Agreed, that fairing does look a little out of place, frankly, but it ain't really that bad.

Remember, what people (critics) use to say about that front bikini fairing of the P220 when it was initially launched? They said it looked bogus, out of place, and what not, but THAT same bikini fairing is still doing duty on the newly launched 'Indian', and NOW since we are so used to seeing it, suddenly it does look attractive!
                          :)

That means whatever is thrown upon us we should take it and try to get used to it..!..
No offence brother but if we are paying our hard-earned money for a bike,we should get things which satisfies us...

                              Nah..!!

I would still prefer the Classic Street fighter Bikini Fairing of the P200 on my P220 DTS-Fi.. provided that the 55 watt projector and the high beam set up is done on that bikini fairing as well.

But by the way, with the all black styling, the current P220 half fairing doesn't look out of place that much. May be a fresh set of stickers can make the fairing look less bulbous on the new ZMA as well.

Now lets wait for the official specs and test ride reports of the new ZMA.

                              • @Shivank: NOWHERE in my post above did I say just blindly buy or approve what's being "thrown" at us, so called breed of premium bikers. What I am trying to say is, now that the looks have been beaten to death with since afternoon today, let us hope that ATLEAST the performance makes up for the looks! Also, an official spec-sheet from Hero Honda would really be good.
                                :)
