If you mean, aggressive riding posture, then No. For my height 6'1, i would rank them as follows.

    1. Suzuki GSXR1000
    2. Yamaha R1
    3. Honda CBR1000RR

09-11 R1 has a much more relaxed ergonomics when compared to the 06-08 R1.

In terms of riding, i think the R1 in A-mode feels very aggressive. The throttle response is very sharp and sort of unnerving if you are used to riding in Standard mode. I still ride my bike in Standard mode. The Honda and Suzuki are more predictable and easy to get along with, which is nice. Thankfully the R1 defaults to standard mode every time you start it. The R1 has a knack of throwing surprises at you. Seems to be in the DNA of the R series .

Thanks for clarifying freind! However, I was referring to the throttle response and not the riding posture and, thanks to you; I got my answer.

One more thing, I think this mode selection thing is with the other two bikes as well? If yes, can you throw some light on it as compared to R1??

The Suzuki GSXR1000 has ride modes, but not the CBR 1000RR.
The GSXR1000 has actually the best implementation of the ride modes. Unlike the R1, where the different modes vary ONLY the throttle response, the GSXR1000s modes actually have different engine maps in each mode. From what i hear, A, B and C modes actually cut power to Full power, 750cc power and 600cc power. This description is not entirely spot on, but you get the idea right. I think modes help you in say wet conditions, where you probably want to be soft on the throttle to avoid a spill.

I can't picture myself riding that thing for more than half an hour, but am sure there are guys out there who are fitter than me physically.
But if I had all the money in the world I would buy it just to keep it in my living room
NO updates as such on the sf, planning on getting a pc5, need to find out if it will breach the warrenty
WIll click some pictures over the week end, its bloody cold here to do any kind of riding , waiting for august for warmer weather

                      • Hey everyone, here is an update on the Big R.

                        Stage 1 Mods

I decided to do some cosmetic mods and focus majorly on bike crash protection mods.
Here is a list of mods I currently have on the bike.

                        1. Shogun No-Cut Frame Sliders

                        2. Woodcraft Swingarm Sliders cum Spools (see Video)
                        3. Motovation Fork Sliders

                        4. GB Racing Engine/Case Cover Kit

                        5. COX Racing Radiator Guard

                        6. Motodynamic Intergrated Brake and Turn Signals

                        7. Fender Eliminator (ebay seller Creese1) (see Video)
                        8. Krypton Bulbs Xenon H7 White Bulbs

                        9. Krypton Bulbs LED Cluster Running lights

                        10. Zero Gravity Corsa Smoked Double Bubble Windscreen

Most of these mods were installed at home with the help of my trusted friends (Harsha and Sharon). The Radiator guard and Fork Sliders were installed by the local dealership cause I had taken the bike in for an updated Cam Tensioner part that Yamaha was providing to all (09-11) R1 owners. I figured I’d let them do it since they were working on the bike anyway. Anyway, I must tell you, it is a lot of fun working on your own bike. Installing the Integrated brake and Turn signal unit was the toughest part. We just couldn’t wiggle the stock brake light unit out. We ended up opening most of the tail section. Anyway we did figure it out in the end. Putting it back together was again an ordeal cause we couldn’t remember which screw or bolt went where . ( Remember to take pictures, or have a manual handy, and keep screw with the associated part). Plus it was getting dark outside. We managed to bolt up everything and found out we were missing a bolt. Somehow it ended up under the race stand???
Anyway once we were putting it back together, we realized we misplaced a spacer that goes into the rear seat locking mechanism. Duct tape came to the rescue . Later on I went online to order the spacer and realized we had actually misplaced another spacer as well :P. Anyway lesson learnt, look at the parts manual before doing an install .
The bike is finally ready with no parts missing .

Here is a walk around video with the mods,
                        Stage1 Mods.MPG - YouTube

                        Minor Mishap

Not sure if any of you heard about the major dust storm that hit Arizona 2 months ago. It was truly something never seen before. It was like a scene from the movie Mummy. Here is a picture.

Anyway, my bike was absolutely plastered with dust. It looked like a Fossil. While I was cleaning it, somehow it came off its side stand and fell on me. I was quick enough to get out of the way and grab it, but it was too damn heavy to stand up. I ended up gently putting it down. Got a scratch on the left side case cover. If I had installed my frame sliders, it wouldn’t have happened. Thanks to a neighbor, who was walking his dog, I could lift the bike back up. Anyway now it’s got all the necessary crash or tip over protection mods.

                        Ride Report

The bike has done about 700 miles and its 1st 600 mile service is complete. I have taken it on one 200 mile ride in the canyons. Had previously done this ride on my R6. So, I am going to try to compare the two.
Obviously, the Big R is an absolute beast when compared to the screaming R6. The power is much more useable and it doesn’t need to be revved to the sky like a 600. In plain words “IT HAULS ASS”. Cruising on the R6 was something I dint like. The bike just wanted to be revved to the limit. So doing around 75-80 MPH in 6th gear, I think my RPMs would be in the vicinity of 8K which is pretty loud. Now suppose I had overtake a car in front of me, I would have to “drop a gear and disappear” (I like that phrase). On the R1, I would be doing the same speed at about 5K rpm and all I need to do would be to crack the throttle open and I am GONE. There is so much grunt at all rpms. The R1 feels so much at home cursing compared to the R6. The R6 just wanted to be revved to the sky. On the twisties however the R6 was EPIC. So light and easy to flick on its side. The Big R however needs some amount of effort to flick. Coming off a 600, I am sure everyone would feel that. But I am told the 1000 RR is much easier to flick among the 1000cc bikes. It took some getting used to, to gauge how much effort I need to put into it, how much throttle input was required etc. I soon got a hang of it, and boy was I having fun on it. The drive out of a corner is incredible on the Big R. Power delivery is smooth and it doesn’t have a surge of power past a certain rpm like the R6. It’s just smooth and linear. Absolutely wonderful. I would always try to stay below 10K rpm on the R6 in a corner, to avoid the top end hit while being cranked over on one side, I would use the top end hit just as I exit a corner. On the R1, I keep opening the throttle and don’t have to worry about a sudden surge. So I am basically taking the same corners faster. Although I miss how on the R6, I’d come out of a corner and shoot past anyone in the vicinity thanks to that maddening top end hit. The cross plane engine is incredibly usable throughout the rev range. And I absolutely love it. And while riding through the canyons, the sound of that motor reverberating off the walls of the canyon is AMAZING.

                        Here are some additional photos.
