i ve heard many guys commenting on the quality of top pro pistons
what do you say about the quality of these pistons ??

    Comment

    • I have very little personal experience with these pistons. i ran these on 2 RX builds till date. They are better than the goetze and the sams. But you obviously cant compare them to SGP/ART. But then again these were the standard fitment on the stock shaolin bores with RIK rings, I just confirmed. There were no ART pistons developed for the shaolin, even with the standard bore. They either came in sam kits or these. I would give these a 7.5/10, compared to the 10/10 i'd give ART and the 4.5/10 i'd give local pistons. These come with a ceramic coated piston crown, insides and RIK rings.

Whats your experience with TOPPRO piston. I have seen these in your shaolin (partially seized bore ) in one of your photos. Is it better than stock piston.. And stock piston from TVS is not ART.

        @ atul
Is toppro a direct fit without altering con rod in shaolin

        • frankly i don noe how a stock piston performs
i ve ridden stock shogun but these two are totally different bikes so u cant compare
i ve been using top pro currently running 0.5 pistons
its pretty good . i am happy with my ride
how i compare it is with a decent chamber n free flow filter you can beat a karizma in a quart mile drag with an equally potent rider
i would doubt on the top speed

          • @ vasanth - they are virtually the same pistons. I just gave a set to a friend and he rebored his barrel today itself. Turns out the std piston he had was a top pro as well. will post up results when he reports it

                • Nikhil nice job, one small suggestion get the filter as close (as much as you can) to the carb..

                        • @psycho
thank u . It cant be plonked directly coz the carb is in line with the chasis
so no place for direct fit n therefore rerouted towards the side
at that distance it is held in place by the rear mud guard so the carb wont come out of the manifold easily.

                          @nikhil
it is a 28 mm roundslide carburettor
keihin pe series . it comes as stock for a honda nsr 150

They match the deck height, piston pockets and inner piston wall too. Later on I checked with a friend of mine and turn out these come as original fitments on the shaolin bores. Im sitting on huge stocks of std pistons as well as 8 oversizes. I'll be returning stock this week. If any of our shaolin boys want to stock a set PM me for the quantity and pricing. These are top pro VR150 pistons. Am attaching pics for reference.
