2T oil - Autolube and premix(20ml/l) for safety.

    Problem:-
I'm able to do 0-40kmph comfortably at time I take it to 50, then bike starts to stammer as if there is no fuel however, when brought the speed down, it is smooth.
Riding behaviour:- Currently shifting gears just before it runs out of smoothness. I don't often change gears and use brakes only when absolutely necessary. Even when the speed drops shall shift one down and careful enough not to strain the engine. Also varying my speed from 30-45kmph.

    My assumption:-
I somehow feel that the carb (new one) will need some tweeking, however, not sure if it is appropriate to play with AFR during the run-in. Also, is that I'm running over and above the require amount of 2T oil?

    • Suggest you talk to the mech, by the sounds of it the tuning is lean. My mech sometimes lean tunes the bike after any engine work so that the person driving will not be able to overkill the engine during running-in.

Also, suggest that you go easy on the 2T oil...As it is its getting expensive these days.

      • Sriram, I dont think oil is causing this problem. It should probably be the Carb causing it. please try interchanging the jets from old carb and try running the bike.

Exactly Guru, It's the same issue that i faced & it was the clogged atomiser that was the culprit.

@ Sriram, By the way you've explained it seems like a perfectly running in bike with correct oil levels except the stutter. Just a suggestion, if the oil pump is calibrated properly why running on premix again?? It will simply glaze your cylinder walls.

P.S. Beautiful pics out there Sriram, hope I'll be able to hop on to her someday when I visit Chn. Also some pics are absolutely brilliant will serve as Matrimonial ones too

Running in period AFR setting is 1 full turn (360 degrees)anti clockwise from full Clockwise setting(Rich) After running in of 500 Kms add another Half(180 degrees) turn Anti Clockwise to lean it...till 1,000Kms

I was told that new carb will be plug and play and least you want to tune it so never did. Ok, will do full close to the right (AFR) and turn 1 1 1/4 turns back and check if the problem persists.

              • Update:- I checked the AFR and turned around for 1 1/4, still bike stuttered. Thanks to PSR Sir for readjusting the AFR and told me that I had turned only 3/4. Completely missed a turn, blame it on me.
Now the bike is smooth like never before and able to touch 50kmph without a struggle. Brakelight assembly was glowing low and if the main headlight switch on, it was bright like brake light (DC). Even that was rectified by simply changing the socket positioning than I was thinking about cutting wires and what not!!!!!!

Good to know that it's been sorted out Sriram. Didn't quite understand the Socket positioning....

What had happened is, the brake Filament and night time riding filament got interchanged in connection...so the bulb socket was taken out and the wires were pushed from behind..this made the bulb connector plate with two brass connection come out.I then rotated it 180 degrees and pushed it back in the socket..this ensured that the bulb socket contact become normal ie., when brake is activated then the thicker filament was glowing brightly(21watts) and when the city/headlight was switched on the thinner (5Watts) filament was glowing.

This thread had been dormant since Sri is busy with riding and enjoying his re-built RX100.Guess he will come back and post things done to tweak it.

                        • Good one

Was really happy to hear that you finished the build.
Hunted for your thread and stuck to it since morning.
Man the amount of parts you have collected and the effort you have put in. Great job.
                          The results are superb.
Good to have your own new RX100 isn't it.
                          Enjoy the RX music.
Can you share who was your assistant in your pit during the rebuild?

                            Odo - 600 kms

Observation- Slowly taking the bike beyond 50kmph. Idles perfect. throttle response is so far satisfactory. Front left indicator rubber joint loose thus loose contact. Need to replace the rubber if not can bet set right.

Got the powerbox of RXS100. Will need to find time to plonk on the bike.
