Sriram, but isn't it better to use matching Rings? I've heard/ Seen horror stories of RIK rings with Mahle Pistons/ Goteze & seizing up...! Sincere suggestion would be as a set with Rings, Circlip & stuff...Originally posted by SriramEfunds View Post

Sriram, even in that case you wouldn't want to end up in seizure! Do you? If you still insist in going through the mix n match, would suggest a Re-Honing atleast will ease up the tension a bit with fingers crossed!Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostExploring the possibility in the event of non-availability.

^ I understand your good interest. However, can't resist exploring the scope of having RXS100 piston (31J) which ART was the make. Again not sure if the same was continued to be supplied in due course of time.
Worst scenario, I shall proceed with what is available for Indian market i.e Mahle.
Just to let you all know that I'm in search of RXS100 STD piston kit (31J) (OE Japan- supplied by Yamaha). If anyone could provide me information would be appreciated.
Right now I'm in touch with a seller of Piston however, he doesn't have the rings.
If anyone knows if there is an alternative, please share the information.

Thanks for letting me know about Shogun still in production in our neighboring country. However, I'm afraid of it's piston compatibility even though it shares 50mm piston as RX100 in India.
Also, Indian Shogun is much better in terms of look and power. Also I see they have rotary disc value system common to what GTOs of Kawasaki.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

I hope even the transmission is 4 speed as in our RX 100 ; try with yb100 in his thread i hope you are already discussing with him on RXS piston wish he says something unbiased (unless he is a yammy fan boyOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View PostThanks for letting me know about Shogun still in production in our neighboring country. the above link gives the spec of the shogun revealing less power and maginally higher torque compared to our RX100 specificationLast edited by raja_roadster; 02-14-2012, 09:35 AM.

Time for some update:- Though I'm still not found time for this restoration, thought would update on the spares procured. Some activities planned for next month, hope it takes off.
