Sri Motors showed me both RX135 as well as RX100 silencer tube to clear my suspicion. It is officially confirmed what I have is RX100!Originally posted by aargee View PostThat's FANTASTIC, fantastic & really fantastic. I hope its not RX/RXG

I think the difference is the inner rings which is present on the RX 135 silencer tube and not present on the RX100.
Is that all the difference?
I remember the service adviser at YASS, Bangalore removed those rings on my RX 135 to increase the sound after my request.
I got to get one of those crank shaft assembly too.
Nothing like having an all new heart.
Great buys.
Keep treating us with more images.

No. The silencer tube is completely different from RX135. The Rx100 is slightly narrow at the bottle neck. I can vouch since I've both.Originally posted by Visaster View PostI think the difference is the inner rings which is present on the RX 135 silencer tube and not present on the RX100.

I've seen 1 RX135 crank assembly on the rack when I visited last time at Sri Motors. Infact, they procured for me thinking I wanted for my 135. Lol.. Check it out, you might get lucky as it takes sometime for them to get from factory.I got to get one of those crank shaft assembly too.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Finally started started to work on the RX100, first, strip the bike to the frame.

Surprised to see Rajdoot embossed

Running on 2nd O/S.

Engine must have seized earlier from the scratches could make out.
,
(Con)necting Rod from never heard of!

Finally got ready for next phase..

All that remains!

Paint job is scheduled next week. ETA for complete the restoration is around mid-April. Let's see how it goes.Last edited by SriramEfunds; 05-01-2016, 09:47 AM.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Sriram, its excitement more than anything else to see the progress. Am sorry there is no update on the bore kit as am out of town and i hope you have sourced one by now.
Seems like the Yamaha guys are making the RX-100 parts just for you and that too in 2012 packing. After my recent purchases i have just lost hope in the 2012 packing, though there is no other way but to buy them.
I know you will be retaining most of the parts, but just a remainder please keep them and don't discard them.
All the best and please keep us posted here. This is truly going to be the most extensive build till date simply by the passion you putting inn.sigpic

Thanks Barath for the wishes. This is just opening, let's see ending?!?!?Originally posted by Brat View PostOne of the meticulously planned and prepared builds i've seen.
Wish you an event-free and speedy build-off.
@Ram:- Thanks. Though prepared for the eventuality, still keeping my fingers crossed.
I really have no choice to ask for old mfg dated parts. So bought whatever I could. I've whole lot of used parts at home and some more from this rebuild too..Originally posted by asif View PostSriram, its excitement more than anything else to see the progress. The old parts will be retained for sometime. The bolt nut etc have already entered the chrome/zinc plating shed to get new lease of life as the newer ones of some are of poor quality.

Few jobs like sandblasting-painting work needs to be done. As of now, ETA - Unknown for project completion.
Update:-
Parts to be chromed / zinc plating - ETA next week.
Sand blasting - Planned next week (hopefully)
Painter - Still on the look out.
Parts purchase - Tyres and few needs to be purchased whenever time permits.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

hi shree,
good to know you are restoring a RX100..actually i also saved money to buy a RX100 but by the time i had sufficient funds its production stopped & had to settle for RXZ(1998 model),did not get a chance to test drive it before buying so finally when i took the bike out of showroom after buying it my heart broke cause it was no where near RX100......but i didnt give up.......it took me almost 5 years to convert it into a reliable performance machine with decent handling with the help of my mechanic friend Shirish Joshi from pune...actually it was a kind of wolf in sheep's clothing as it looked just like a stock bike from outside save for the pacer yamaha expansion, yezdi rim/tyres & rally handlebars...it had everything but lacked the finesse of a RX100,my best wishes for bringing for bringing your bike back to its pristine condition.I am really ...happy that die hard 2stroke fans like Aargee is also following the post...sorry have not read the thread fully, but would certainly love to read Aargees valuable experiences.lol......

RXZ in my world is another beauty. Offcourse, one cannot compare both as they are totally different. Aargee is my close friend and he is my insipration to my RX135 rebuild earlier as well. It took some years for me to get another RX into my family after carefully weighing options. I'm just another 2 stroke head here trying to revive RX from the lost era (2 stroke). Thanks for your wishes.Originally posted by gopakumar s pillai View Posthi shree,

I'm following a plan devised earlier in order to balance work home and restoration. So far systematic approach had left me very little deviation however, there is no guarantee how it goes till the end.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011
