  • Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series

    Hello guys,
I bought a rxz recentlyIt needs a lot of work to be done. The engine is making noises that i had previously heard only from rice mills or stone crushers.I opened the head to find 1mm piston. Please have a look at the photos and advice on the condition of the bore.Is ring replacement enough? or cant it be rebored to 1.25mm? also,is 1.25 mm piston available/advisable?

Check the sleeve and buy TopPro pistons, they are available beyond 1mm size for Rx 135/Z.

Hi all.. my 86 rx (eecently purchased) is gathering dust for some time want of time. Did a couple of things though.. got an NGK G-Power plug (thanks to SriramEfunds .. itz not available in my town) . Although the starring and running of the engine has improved the tuning of carb and condition of engine ensures thar I dont zip zap zoom...
Also I got a 12v RR and connected it. Just wanted to check it and revved the engine with h/l on. As expected the bulb blew .. indicating higher voltage. Yet to measure using a multimeter.
I had changed both brake shoes but still braking is not upto mark. The mech said the hub might have worn out and I may have to change it.
I am home only by 6 PM on weekends and on Sundays the workshops are closed. So this situation is likely to continue for some time. Just thought I'd update the current status here.
          😊

Currently it is black .. but the rc shows red (I think). The odo reads nearly 45k.. might be that it has turned one full cycle..some cosmetic maintenance has been done..silver paint on the carrier and wheel rims, engine case etc.

It looks lovely sir. Are you planning on restoring it to stock or are planning on doing a resto-mod?

I am planning on a resto-mod since the stock setup is not enough for normal use by today's standard. I am looking for front disc setup , better electricals and better road grip. Also planning on rxz speedo console for the tacho and lock.

I was also looking to do a front disk mod considering that was the original Japanese design but I decided to get the bike back to absolute stock instead for lack of help and resources in Hyderabad (These bikes are also dirt cheap here for lack of a proper fan following). All the same sir I would like to know which bike's disk setup and front shocks you're planning on buying for this mod. I would also like to know if it is possible sir to source a 12v coil and magnet for the Rx100 in your city as I am still looking for it.

I am planning on using Gladiator's front end. My mech says its a direct fit. Also he has a source who gets it frm Delhi or Mumbai.
Hav to ask about the 12 v coil and magneto. I had just swapped the 6v rr for a 12v one (and the bulbs too ) and the light is better post idling.
BTW what does dirt cheap mean ? Are those bikes with valid papers ?

10-11k for running condition vehicle (missing indicators, faded paint, etc) with clear and valid papers. Without papers the same comes to 6-8k INR.

Ok condition with excellent engine and clear papers would be 15-18k INR based on year of purchase. Good to excellent condition with clear papers single owner would come to 20-30k INR depending on year of purchase (the older being costlier and newer being cheaper).

Prices from last month. For latest prices you'll have to give me a weeks time to catch up with my sources.
