  • Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series

Guys , can anybody tell me that is this a genuine Castrol 2T or not, because I am purchasing this 2T from a fixed shop for about 2 years as this shop always has a recent date product. Earlier the Castrol 2T which I buy from a different shop was used to be very old but properly sealed(the rate and Mfg. date area was always found to be scrapped).

And from the day 1st the bike is running on only Castrol 2T because in Haldwani(Uttarakhand) there are no other better options than Castrol 2T.

    • RSX135 - Rain/water wont release accelerator

      Hi guys,

***CONFESSION - I just know to ride and don't know much about the internal workings of bikes***

I have a Yamaha RX135 4 speed which I bought last October and been trying to slowly restore things within.
Now, I have one major issue with the bike which I am not sure what is causing it.

This is an issue that I face for at least half an hour after it rains or after I get the bike back from a wash. As I continue riding for about 5km, the problem goes away and the bike is back to being normal.

So after a rain or a wash, once I start the bike, rev it and release the accelerator, the bike continues to keep revving. The accelerator is surely released and the cable is released too as far as I can see. But it keeps revving. To release it properly, I have rev it 100% and release it in a fraction of a second and it releases. When I rev a little to ride again, it gets stuck. And this goes on.

One of the mechanics told me that the opening in the carburetor where the choke cable goes in, is open so the water is getting into the carb which is causing it. So I decided to buy the carburetor repair kit and changed it and add the rubber covering (the circled part in the attached screenshot). And I still have the same problem.

Is there anyone else here who has faced a similar issue or does anyone have a clue about what could be happening with the bike?

        • Re: RSX135 - Rain/water wont release accelerator

Can anyone help me in the differences between a 5 speed gear box and a 5 speed conversion kit. Will there be any performance differences and are gear ratios different?

Most of the shop keepers and mechanics I come across states that a conversion kit is problematic and tends to become notchy very soon. Please advice.

All Rx series came with autolube.

Thanks,But autolube means the oil won't burn with fuel on combustion but It will have a separate dedicated Oil Pump to correctly lubricate the Main Parts right ? Thanks.

Autolube means oil is injected from a separate tank, by a pump, operating by crank rotation by a gear, in to the carburetor, near the intake manofold, which mixes with the af mixuture and burns in the cumbustion chamber.

The tech you are reffering to is called direct oil injection present in the last gen hi tech 2 strokes.
