from which end did you hammer , you have to push it down from the top , through the cavity for the slide, if you push from the bottomit willnever come out , worse you will end up ruining it

you have to push it from the top (from the slide side ) towards the bowl , and please be gentle , do not clobber away on the carb

Is 3.00/18 tyre a direct fit in Yamaha rx100 or should I have to change the rear rim also alongwith it???
How does 3.00/18 tyre affect the bike in long runs, as I have read in others thread that replacing the rear tyre with a 16" yezdi tyre damage the engine in long run!!!

3.00/18 is direct fit on stock rim, I'm (along with many others here) running on the same.

Using a smaller tire will call for a higher rpm to cover the same speed (when compared with stock 18" tyre) No. of strokes per km will be higher.
This will reduce the engine life, but very marginal.

                • Magnet coil timing issues, Rx 100 converted to 135 four speed

                  Hi friends,
I recently had a piston jam on my 1989 rx100 and the cylinder was in the last bore. I did not want a new sleeve so I put my rxz four speed block n carbs n cdi. The magnetic coil is still same as of 100 and is in advance. Should i get a 135 coil or can i use the current coil with new holes. My question is whether the coil should be moved clockwise or anticlockwise. I do all the works myself and for me expert advice will be very helpful. Please do help. Thanks in advance.

                  • Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series

I bought a RX king gear box. After inspection, my mechanic says that the gear box is worn out a little and will make rattling noise. I was unable to understand exactly what he means?

What are symptoms and indications of a unconditioned gearbox. What would be the consequences if I still proceed to install it. (the price I got that for was really good and does not feel like return it back.) Any help here please?
I dont have much knowledge about engine and other components. I was thinking about restoring an RX100 or a platina or any such bike, to gain some knowledge about them. Is it a good idea and the right medium? Or should it be other way around?
