It is 1994 model with G1 bore. carburetor made in India (not sure which company).

condition of bike when i took from him:

    No battery
no oil in the side oil tank

when I drove it. It was okay but howling is bit loud than normal no smoke that time. I paid him 31k and got the bike. Its around 35kms from his place. I thought there was oil in the oil tank (yesterday I filled it). I filled with petrol alone without oil. But the problem is bike got stop many times yesterday. Petrol bunk guy checked that oil tank and said its empty then I filled with 2T oil. and asked him to put some oil in petrol tank also. after that we went for around 5-6 kms after I observed lot of smoke coming from exhaust pipe.
Again same problem, engine stopped many times. Some how I reached home. Now bike is not starting I'm worried whether engine got seized?? Is that my fault like not filling oil along with petrol and drove around 40-50 kms??

what I have to do now? take that to a mechanic?? if so is there any genuine mechanic in OMR road, Chennai?

PS: when i was checking bike i just pulled the cable in the picture and I dont know where the other end was connected!!
please help me to take my beast on to the roads again!!

Why are you guys so ignorant? Its a 2 Stroke bike, its always advisable to read, read and read before getting your foot in between anything. A 2 stroke bike uses 2T oil for lubrication, if not used grinding metal parts will create a lot of friction and would over heat, and will for sure cease your engine. You should never ever rely on the oil pump, even if you have a working pump, always use premix. A little extra oil will not kill your bike, it will just come out as smoke.

A smoking 2 stroke is just part of its character, it would never be as smoke less as a 4 stroke, Try living with it. The cable that you yanked out is the oil pump cable, take it to a mech, do not narrate the whole story, just ask him to connect the oil pump and check if its working. If its not working, its not the end of the world for you, just make sure you ask the petrol pump attendant to add oil worth 10 Rs for every 100 Rs petrol you would fill. This is till the prices of petrol or oil goes up majorly, then add 30ml/ Litre.

Check if the kicker is going down freely, if yes the engine is not ceased stuck, When your bike stops next time while running, put a few drops of water immediately on the head and see if it turns to smoke(a bit nasty but you can spit as well if no water is available). If it does turn into steam then your engine is over heating. Ask the mech to increase the fuel in the air fuel mixture, this can be done by turning the air screw anti clock wise( I recommend to take it to the mech)

Before you do anything to your engine, first check the compression on your cylinder, if there is no loss of compression and the bike is running then you don't need a rebuild, if its not overheating, the engine stopping can be attributed to something else, and the first thing you should check is your ignition lock and then other electrical, if the sudden stopping can be attributed to any electrical issue.

You have to also mention if the bike starts immediately after stopping or you have to wait?

I gave my bike to a mechanic yesterday(chennai omr road), he checked my bike its like there was a leak in petrol pipe one night 4L petrol gone
and there is a leak in oil pipe also
for new wiring(~350) + new tail lamp glass(no idea about price) + horn(no idea about price)+ new battery(~850) + key set (on/off key, side lock and petrol lock)(~400) + oil and petrol leak problem + smoke leak near exhaust pipe +speedo meter(no idea about price)
He said it will take ~3000-3500 for service
Is that too much or okay?

I'm planning to swap yamaha gladiator's swing-arm to RX, after hearing that it was a direct fit. But when i tried the stock axle nut is bigger in diameter compared to gladiator's, that it doesn't even enter the adjuster hole. Any help in installation please?

for wiring kit, go for OE which is cheaper than minda. An amco battery should cost you about 650/-. its better to fetch the parts by yourself rather than leaving it to mechanics unless he is a long known and trusted one. Just make a visit to GP road and you'll find the prices given by your mech to different from actual. Let me know if you need some help.

Is this the adjuster in Gladiator? (Image from Google) How about drilling to a bigger dia? (does the sleeve inside had enough thickness?)

Yes it is... I got it from scrap yard but was literally brand new. Presently it is with my tinker so can't get the exact size but from looks, it was close to an inch longer. I was thinking the same about making the hole bigger but didn't want to fiddle with the swing arm. Only the axle nut is the issue. I believe fabricating a new axle nut would be the only solution. If there is any direct fit it will be great and less painful process.

                    • Starting problem in my rx 100.....

                      Hey guys...
Its great to have so much Rx fans from all over India with all their knowledge and experience in one place. I am also a proud owner of my Rx 100(1994) model which I got from my elder brother in 2003. My brother didn't ride this legend very much like I do .
My Rx is currently running on 2nd oversized piston which was changed in year 2008. Other than this my Rx is in a very mint stock condition(like to keep it that way)...
But recently I facing few problems with my Rx :

                      1) My daily commuting is 20-25km per day(if not roaming around ), the problem is that when I run at above 60 kmph speed for 1 hour or more the bike doesn't re-start in when one or two kicks and sometimes I have to use choke it it doesn't start in 3 kicks. But this problem doesn't occur if I run at 40-50 kmph speed.
The bike is currently giving awesome 42 kmpl mileage.

                      2) The bike was initially a 6V and changed to 12V in 2006. From the last few years the battery didn't last more than a year and I have to replace the battery after every 15-16 months. Last battery was Amaron Pro Rider which lasted only 14 months. Currently using the same battery.

                        3) The chain cover is creating a "ghiz-ghiz" sound regularly, after fixing the chain cover so many times by the mechanic the sound is still there. The sound was not there 1 month ago and started to occur when my mechanic open the chaincover 1 month ago and replace the chain lock.

Can anybody tell me how to remove the atomizer from the rx 100 carb? My bike dies at 70+ kms per hour, have replaced everything in the carb. I have an atomizer, however I am unable to take the old one out. The next logical option would be to buy a new carb.

Take a long bolt, open the carb bowl, remove float system and main jet, lightly hammer it out.

tried it, using a Philips screw driver, should I take it to a lathe to be pressed out? I even applied generous amounts of WD40 before hammering it, it didn't budge even an MM, didn't want to break anything.

Then it may have fused with the body. Try using a rd block stud. Thats what i use. Dip the carb in brake fluid for a while then try
