There are people who repair speedometer. They do it easily. Else you have to buy a new inner meter set without the case for the particular model you have and fix it on your old case.

Guys, my '91 RX100 is running on G2 bore. I don't know if the cylinder kit has been replaced or not. I opened up the cylinder head and found that the cylinder wall doesn't have a lot of scratches or wear marks. I decarbonized the piston and head today. I'm worried about the noise from engine(reduced a bit after decarbonization) sounds like piston slap. What might be the cause? Is it the piston rings and piston that I have to replace?

The Meters are available at SAYA motors karol bagh for around 1800 a set, its not a great buy but can be bought(there is calibration error in the tacho)

The tacho's were never compatible with RX series(except the rxz) they are made compatible, if its a mechanical cable driven tacho(RXZ/RD/KB100) then you need to drill the clutch side cover and install the tacho drive set for an RXZ and make it working.

The RXZ cable needs a bit modification to make it work with an RD tacho.

              Major issue guys !
              recently i started feeling a power loss in my 96 RX100 .
              The initials are lacking .
what i mean is when you throttle the bike hard , there is a feel as if i'm running on half clutch .
My clutch plates have recently been replaced and i had also re-bored my engine some while ago.
First it was easy enough to pop a wheelie (i don't do stunts) but now its hard. the top end seems to be fine though .
              What can i do ?
also i need all the performance modification that i can do to my rx100.
(step by step please because i'm a student and doesn't have much pocket money so i will be doing one step at a time )

Brothers I am having a strange problem in my Rx100 since yesterday.

Left side indicators are working fine but right side indicators stopped working and whenever I am sliding the indicator switch to the right side the neutral light bulb starts blinking instead of right side indicators. Also when i shift the switch to the left side the left side indicators works fine and nothing happens to the neutral bulb.

Today I checked the wiring below the tank and seat and also the relay and both seems fine . Although due to lack of time didn't open the headlight assembly and LHS switch assembly, so will check inside them tomorrow evening.

Main concern here is why neutral light blinks!!!

Also I made a video so that you guys can see what's actually happening

there is a short somewhere, try a different switch gear, that might help.

                      • Yamaha rx100 for city use MUMBAI ROADS

                        Hello,
I'm hunting for a Rx 100 for my trips to Malad, bhyander, madh island etc.
I own a first gen maestro and it gives me alot of back ache cause of the bumps specially on those roads.

Why I want an Rx 100?
                        1) it's inexpensive.
                        2) tried and tested.
3)30-35 efficiency is good for the price.
                        4) it's a cult on its own and is more of a dirt bike for me since Mumbai roads are off roads.
                        5) lightweight, easy to mod, easy to maintain?
                        6) I ride slow 40-60. I would have gone for a Yamaha fz or gixxer but they're almost for a lakh and I don't prefer splender or something, so this bikes perfect for me.
                        8) need comfort!

                        What I plan to do.
                        1) I don't plan to restore it to its original form use fine tune the engine to get best efficiency.
                        2) I plan to change its shockups with gas ones for more comfort.
                        3) I plan to change the 18inch spokes to 16inch steel for mileage.
4)no fancy electronic nor some special noise.
                        5) simple and fun to ride bike.

                        What I'm afraid of.
                        1) mileage? How do I get the best of it? By changing or keeping what?
                        2) comfort? What all do I need to change?
                        3) is it hard to maintain?
                        4) is it safe? I heard it slips alot?
                        5) any other suggestions?

I don't even know how to check a Rx 100 and I'm looking for one in Mumbai.

                        Pros cons?

Advice for me? No other bikes please let's stick to this.

                          1) it's inexpensive. - Not at all. People demand a leg and hand for RX100 today. If you are getting a decent bike at cheaper price, man you are lucky.
                          2) tried and tested. -But depends a lot on how well the bike was maintained by the previous owner.
                          5) lightweight, easy to mod, easy to maintain? - No such relation, but has it's own advantage

                          What I plan to do.
                          2) I plan to change its shockups with gas ones for more comfort. -I suggest SNS suspension than the GAS loaded one. For solo riding SNS is more comfortable
                          3) I plan to change the 18inch spokes to 16inch steel for mileage. - it should be other way round. 16" wheels will increase the acceleration with drop in mileage

                          What I'm afraid of.
                          1) mileage? How do I get the best of it? By changing or keeping what? - Well maintained RX100 driven at 40~50kmph should deliver around 40~45kmpl. If you are more concerned about mileage, go for RX135 (but the difference isn't much)
                          2) comfort? What all do I need to change? - Stock seat and handlebar + Bajaj SNS suspension at rear + Soft rubbers with correct inflation. Nothing much could be done.
                          3) is it hard to maintain? - Requires passion than money
                          4) is it safe? I heard it slips alot - Depends on how well you understand the behavior of bike
                          5) any other suggestions?

Better to take help from someone who know what an RX is.

Thanks for your reply all! What do I do of the tyre size? I want them to be grippy and not skid, almost skid off a ktm the other day. I heard the RX slips bad in the rain etc? Do it require disk brakes? Or is it good? I don't plan to fly off to 100 or so anyway.
