Yes, however, it also needs a 135 block to work.

I have a RX-Z tachometer ( PRICOL ) ( OEM ). I bought it from a reputed spares shop in my city, Trichy. It costed me around Rs. 740/-. I don't have the worm gear though. . I will buy another one in the near future as I want 2 RX-Z Tachos in my spares collection. . where are you?. If you are in chennai I can help you.

plz tell me whats the difference btw these two Oils :- ( I've given links to yamaha-motor-india's website )

since neither of these two oils are not 2T Oils,( being fed into the engine by the 2T Oil pump ) why yamaha has two different Oils?

The first one is the 2T oil which you would premix with your petrol or add in the 2T tank, this ensures the piston is lubricated when the engine is running. Second one is the oil you will add on the clutch side of the bike to ensure the wet clutch works flawlessly.

thanks. initially I thought both were just slightly different types of gear oils.

                    • yamaha rx100 vs rx135

                      Hello,

                      I am from mumbai.
Reason i want a rx= cheap to get, easy to maintain, has its own cult, its fast, lightweight and it gives decent mileage.

I am getting rx100's for 10-18k 4 speed all papers clear.
                      im ok with that.

But someone just told me that the rx135's are better? and give much more mileage like 40-50?
                      and rx100 only gives 30-40?

I am not a rough rider, i ride gentle.

The only mod i will be doing is changing the shock ups to something more comfortable, not interested in performance mods, since for me this bike is good enough.
i currently own a Hero maestro 9k clocked.

Mileage/ maintenance / comfort / all this matters

as i said, I'm getting rx100's for 10-18k or so.
while on the other hand, on olx i am fetching rx135s for 20-60k
                      that's beyond my budget.

So would an rx100 be good enough for me?
i will be using it in the city mostly, and maybe highway trips.

Or shall i save up, and source a rx 135 5 speed?
I am not a speed freak.
as long as i get a good mileage and less to worry about im in.

                      Thank you

                        Thank you
                        Let me share my opinion....

                        1. If you are getting RX100 for just 10-18k thats great go for it....check the overall condition of the bike....how was it maintained. becauz once you've bought it I guess who will have to spend some extra on mechanicals like clutch bell, clutch plates and may be an oil pump also ( depending on the condition ).

                        2. RX100 is more thrilling to ride than RX135 since it has smaller CC engine ( 50.0mm Bore X 50.0mm Stroke ) for RX100 vs ( 58.0mm Bore X 50.0mm Stroke ) for RX135 translating into sudden pickup/acceleration. In this regard, based on your riding style I think RX135 will be more suited to you.

                        3. Yes RX135 gives a bit more mileage than RX100.

                        4. You can still place an order at YAMAHA showrooms for a new RX100 Piston-Cylinder kit these days. RX135 kits are not available( as far as my research is concerned ).

My suggestion is that if you can get a RX135 ( 4-Speed ) for 25k or below, go for that. else get a RX100.

Are the parts easy to get for the 135?

Also 4speed vs 5speed. Does it really matter? Since I don't ride fast

regarding parts, yes if you can do a just a little bit of hunting, you can get GENUINE YAMAHA parts for both RX100 and RX135 even these days....If you can find a decently maintained RX135 ( 4-Speed ) go for that.

Only the piston-cylinder kit of the RX135 ( 4-Speed ) is not available from my research, many fake kits are available without the part number, be aware and stay away from them . Check the cylinder part number of the bike before buying.....4TL00 is the original 4-Speed part number.

I just want to point you to this, where I have posted the difference btw RX100 and RX135 ( 4-Speed ) speedometer assemblies:-

Yes it does matter to a small extent, you see the general characteristic of a 2-Stroke is that it requires a lot of throttle wringing to get the best performance that is why the 5-Speed produces 14BHP@7500RPM while the 4-Speed produces [email protected] you don't ride fast, 4-Speed will be perfect for you. Another important thing is you can ride the 4-Speed in top gear @ 20kmph. the 5-Speed cannot do that. which I feel destroys its city riding practicality a little bit.
