My Jap CKD RX100 is left under the hood of a workshop since three months! I've delayed them getting the tank and side kit covers painted. It was a total mistake that I dared getting them to a faux bike modders for airbrush painting. Neither I got a hue of my choice and some paint works (so the vinyl decals will be minimized), I forced them to go for Rising Sun similar Japanese flag on the top of tank, which is somewhat okay but not finished on edges.

It's clear coated twice, Since I'm supposed to add some white stripes on top between the red layers to the striking Japanese flag effect, Can I go for another clear coat? If yes I'll be adding some pearl effect too (one or two pinches).

The re-assembly with new OE parts and upgraded rims (17" front) is complete with electro platted parts too (which is dusted by now ). It's a 12v converted coil with a rectifier, Which is the best battery rating I can opt considering a better throw headlamp with pass light feature and long life ? The mechanic asked to buy the acid battery rather than sealed ones for better life and charging while running.

      • Help build me a budget RX cafe racer.

        Hello,
        I am from Mumbai.
I'm getting a RX cafe racer for my Brother.
        He's 70kgs
        5'11
        29 years.

        We're from Mumbai.
I wish to make a budget cafe racer.
I plan to get the RX 135.
Put a different tank (where can I buy one? Or is there a direct fit?) Long one.
I want a cafe racer seat but I want it to let two people sit. No single seats.
        Clip on handle bars.
Wide tyres(my friends a dealer, so I'll get them for almost free. What's the fattest I can go for?

        That's pretty much it.
        Shall I get disk brakes?

        I don't wanna spend much, cause I can't.
My major concern is tank and seat.

        Please help

Guys recently i came across a VFORCE 4 reed valve.
SO what is the benefit of such a product ?
How compatible is it with an RX100 ?

To fix a V force on RX100 the intake needs mod,it is just a waste of money on such a motor , it is basically for high performance 2 stroke engines like the YZ series, RZ etc...

Try to get fiber reed petals. They are enough for rx. V force is overkill for rx.

Hey guys, last week i changed the gear shifter lever on my rx100, after that i had problem with shifting but my mech, the one who installed the new shifter did something and i was able to shift. As soon as i got back home and parked the bike, the gears won't engage! The shifter is moving up and down, there is return action once it goes down but the gears simply won't engage! The bike is currently stuck in neutral. What should i look into??

Check the milling, if its worn out, there is a 10mm bolt see if its tight, lastly is everything above is fine sit back a bit than your normal position on the bike and check if the gears slot, if it does, most likely the mech has not installed the washer behind the circlip on the gear leaver pivot

Is it advisable to take a Yamaha RX 100(1991 make) for long rides up north ....like from Mumbai to Chandigarh and back?....engine in good condition ...pistons and piston rings are new, carb and 2T oil pump working well and never broke down in city drives in Mumbai...but engine emits great deal of smoke.

                      Please guide

                      Thank you

Not recommended without completing the running in period as you told the piston and rings are new. If its completed, then its fine. If the smoke is more may be sinc eits your running period, the mech might have increased the 2T flow a little bit more. People ride scooters for long distances. And buddy you have an RX...... Just enjoy the trip.

Hey guys, came across this 91 RX100. Its rusted badly but the engine has not seized. On the block it says "36L00 98cm3" which i believe is the new bore. Carburetor reads JAPAN. Rear shock absorbers are from "MUNJAL SHOWA". The frame is rusted however usable.. i am planning to buy this bike. So what is the price i can pay for this bike? I am mainly buying it for the engine and frame. The owner is asking 6k for it.

Be it from Japan or Heaven, the quality of maintenance makes a huge difference. Please don't fall for the manufacturing location.

6k for the bike + papers or the bike alone? If it is the later, better avoid.

That is true buddy! The bike's papers are missing.. so if he sells it for 4k i will think of buying or else will avoid.
