The digital CDI has conked off probably !!! Damn me!!!

I don't know how to call this stupidity of mine!!! Ok, lets replace the fuse & try was my next thought. Fortunately, the fuse box has a spare fuse. I remove all the vibromini connection, put everything back to stock stage & plug back the additional fuse & throw the blown fuse away, give one kick...two kick...three kick & vroom, the bike starts . Good I'm happy, I rev a little & then put off the engine. So the CDI hasn't conked off because the fuse took care of the shorting. But, little did I know what was awaiting for me the next day...

Perfect Monday morning for all the problems to start I pull the choke, kick start & idle & about 15 seconds later, the engine stops. This time, I promptly look into the neutral light which is not glowing. Now I knew the fuse is blown again. So I take scooter to office that day giving rest to my Rx.

I come back in the evening with 4 fuses (that's all the shop had ) & plug a fuse & then start. It doesn't & to make matter worse, the neutral lights are intermittently switching off. This is a loose connection!!! Damn

So finally, I see where the connections are loose, tighten them & then start, but it still doesn't!!! The neutral light is steady by now. Ok, time for CDI troubleshooting. So I plonk the stock CDI & kick start & God!!! Rx roars back to life. Its clearly evident, I BLEW THE DIGITAL CDI How many times can I curse myself for that stupid horn!!!

I hope to order a digital CDI soon, or rather when I get hold of some money. Meanwhile, my experiments with carbs are another write up. I'll pen them down here some day.

Aargee, I have the circuit for the standard RX100 CDI,and parts are available at Ritchie/Narasingapuram Street. If any of your friends can assemble it you can get it done...it will cost you 200 to 300 rupees only.

psr sir argee was running the rd dreams digital cdi kit not the standard static cdi it is an excellent piece of kit ,comes highly recommended and increases the performance of the bike ,the flip side is that its costly (3.5K) ,sensitive , and extremely addictive, once you start using the rdd cdi its very difficult to go back to stock

Let me clarify something, it DOES NOT increases the performance, the CDI only helps to draw more current & burn the AF mixture completely. This means, no left over oil in the cylinder to dump into exhaust. The performance as such doesn't increase, but helps to improve mileage when combined with 90/100 kit & advance the timing so that one gets the same stock performance for a little AF mixture by adjusting the carbs.

Aargee if it is busted then you can open it and see what makes it tick...can get the circuit, from it if you are a bit careful.

Trust me, I can make nothing out of the circuit. If you're interested, I can send it across to you depending upon the feasibility. Moreover, its sealed with epoxy so, I'm little bit lazy to open up too.

NAND ? are you talking of Nand gates or the sealant ? Nand gates are in the IC and the epoxy sealant has to be taken off carefully...long patient process, fit for old people only..
