          • Let us hope they dont end up as the "I" series bore of RX100. We also had an offer for 4 numbers of 4-speed bore & 3 numbers of 5-speed bore, but decided against it. Will play the waiting game here.

I still prefer the Classical RX135 bores manufactured before 2007. I hope people realize that Escorts is no longer in picture.

Karthik, there were no negative reports heard from 'I' series RX100 bore kits. Also, what will less fortunate enthusiasts will do if they want 4 or 5 speed bore kit or want to convert their bike 5 speed? There is hardly any 5 speed bore kits from yesteryear manufactured date around. There might be some concern over the authenticity, even if that is validated, price that you pay for 5 speed bore kit atleast 5-6 times than the price it was originally purchased. I appreciate Yamaha to come out with cylinder kits of 2 strokes, even if the batch happened to be different than we had earlier. This not only helping the 2 stroke to revive their passion but also helps to procure from showroom at a marked price.

You and I giving certificate of what series of bore is good is less known to general public, all they care about is buying genuine stuff from showroom. Also, it is believed that the spare parts purchased from showroom comes with QC checked at some point.

                Just posting my thoughts here.

Adding to What Sri has said, even if the liner is bad like certain assume which is eventually wrong (Telling this cos, have seen procured two Rx100 kits in "I" Series from showrooms for my friends in garage and the only thing that I did out of my own interest for them was to polish the ports, Other than that it was good to go & still clocking miles without any issues) a re-honing or worst case running on 1'st O/S is also good to go for the "Non-Wealthy Enthusiasts" who swear by the word "Yamaha". Also you get a Bill with VAT paid now..! Isn't that awesome...?

                  • Yamaha Rx 135 Spares: Coil Plate Assembly, 5 Speed Gearbox, SS Spokes & More

                    Hi guys,

i am on the lookout for two critical OEM spares for my Rx 135 rebuild:
                    1. Coil Plate Assembly
                    2. 5 Speed Gearbox

Do let me know if anyone has any leads on the same in terms of pricing and availability. The story for the rebuild is penned here (for some background on the bike and the build requirements): http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/thumpers...-rustique.html

Also, thanks for sharing the pix and the information on the re-availability of the 5 Speed Block/Piston set. I'm sure, many a Rx enthusiast must be drooling over them.

The thing is, both TVS & Bajaj have withdrawn OEM spares support for the two-stroke offerings from yesteryear. It is only Yamaha that has kept up with their Spares. This is why, i feel that they should be appreciated, even though the supply may get erratic and some key parts may not feel the same as before. In a world where they are no reliable after-market spares, anything OEM is going to be better.

Just my two bits worth of thoughts on the whole discussion around the new lot of OEM spares from Yamaha India that are starting to surface at the Brand Shops
                    Thanks and Cheers

Exactly. Oflate we all know there have several cases of spurious spares in "Yamaha Packing" sold at Y.A.S.S. Take for instance the 5-speed conversion kit assembly !!!!!!!! This is the reason i prefer the back dated ones which are Genuine & Authentic.

As far as General Public is concenred, why dont they go for a used bore kit? Both my bikes & my Circle of friend's bikes are all running 0.25mm or above!!!!!! Its better to goto nearest Gujjari (Scrap Yard) and purchase the used Bore.

The reason i am against using "I-series" bore for RX100 is pretty much summed by Ram in trailing content.

Note 1: May i know which series bore are you using for your RX100?

Note 2: If the Company can sell the Bore kit for 3~4 times the original MRP (That too a Bore kit by different manufacturer), why can't stockists sell it for 5~6 times its original MRP for the back dated Authentic E-Series Bores? Its a basic Supply Vs Demand Philosophy. Its not just the case of Bore kits!!!!!!! Why is Yamaha RX-Z 5-Speed Selling for 70K~1L in B'lore? Why is RD350HT selling for 1.8L to 2.5L in B'lore? And people buy it. Why? Sriram, next time you are in B'lore, please do meet us, i will personally take you to Shivaginagar Gujjari & you can enquire the Bore rates there, i am sure you will faint!!!!!! The market in B'lore is such & there are plenty of buyers, hence such an inflation will keep happening.

This is the reason i dont offer these bores for Genuine Enthusiasts. If it is for "Point A" to "Point B" travel, then i suppose there is nothing wrong with even the Imported Fake Bores, they do their job pretty well, don't they?

                              Just expressing my views.
