You should be getting it at showroom, else order it. OE price should be around 250-300 bucks last known.Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostRX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

No Worries Shoaib we are all here to help each other out. This is some info on the carb differences on both versions of the 135 from one of Karthiks postsOriginally posted by sohaibak View PostThanks for your reply
.
I do have the following parts.
Standard size 5 speed bore kit ( cylinder, piston, ring)
5 speed cylinder head.
RXZ 5 speed carburettor. I think there is a difference in the carbs of 135 4 speed and RXZ. the carb on the Z is bigger. Even the jets. 135 jet size is 115 i guess and on the z its 135. correct me if i am wrong. and even while comparing the side by side the carb of the RXZ is slightly bigger.
Actually my bike was standing in my garage for 8 yrs. its condition has detoriated a lot bcoz i wasnt able to ride it. I have started the restoration process and the bike is complete and its all original and stock except the bore on 2nd size. I want to convert it to 5 speed so am searching for the parts required. i am really in need for the parts.
so according to your suggested parts i require the following
5 speed gear box.
5 speed engine casings.
can any one help me please as to where can i get these parts and yes can u please also let me know about the cost of these parts.
really appreciate your reply PAIN.
regards,
Sohaib
Good info:
-----------
The OEM Carb assembly for RX135 is Mikuni / UCAL Mikuni. The Carb assembly are different for both 4-Speed & 5-Speed versions.
4-Speed: '4TL 01' with Main Jet = 165 & Pilot Jet = 17.5
5-Speed: '4TL4 20' with Main Jet = 135 & Pilot Jet = 15.0
These are VM type of Carburettors manufactured by Mikuni & both are 22mm.
------------
The last part of my post (5 speed casings and Repaint with 5 speed decals) is for things that are good to do only if you are anal about getting the entire conversion spot on looks wise as well. These are completely optional and have no effect on the conversion process or performance.
However, you seem to have missed on the sproket change that will be required. The front and rear sproket sizes are different for both setups (again from Kartiks post)
4-Speed: 16T / 34T
5-Speed: 15T / 38T
Finding a brand new 5 speed gearbox/conversion kit may be difficult and expensive. Yamdoots advise and price range on a used kit is spot on and will save you some money too IMHO.Last edited by The Pain; 08-12-2012, 09:36 PM.Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Today i went to a genuine parts dealer in nanapeth pune and through him i got the 5 speed sprocket set which i had ordered. I did not include it before in list of parts that i have with me because i was not sure wether he would be able to make it available. Now i also have the Sprocket kit (15t/38t).
I asked him that i am in search for a 5 speed gearbox to which he said that he might me able to make it available but will have to wait for a month or so and even he said that he wont be able to guarantee wether it would be genuine.
I have searched high and low for the gearbox in pune and i have heard from some mechanics about duplicate 5 speed gearbox which has nashik made gears in them which are of very bad quality and tend to slip gears while running. This is the reason i am asking brothers here to help me get hold of genuine 5 speed gearbox.
I am not even able to find a used 5 speed gearbox even and its really frustrating
.
please help someone who has or knows who might have genuine 5 speed gearbox. I am not concerned for the cost because i am an enthusiast of rx series and wont hesitate to shell out a few moolahs..

thanks again to all of you for their help and knowledge.
regards,
Sohaib.

Yes it is possible to convert to a 5speed GB and retain the casings.Originally posted by sohaibak View PostDoes it mean that i do not have to change engine casings for converting my gear box to 5-speed? I had been under the impression that i will also have to change the casings also for the conversion. If it is possible that i can keep my stock casings and still covert the gear box to 5 -speed it would be really great. My bike will still look stock but would have an awesome surprise underneath
.
Does it mean that i would only require the 5 speed gear box only? please let me know.
And thank you Yamdoot for sharing your knowledge.

The gearbox with Nashik or Pune made gears is all BS. Search for a good less used original gearbox or go for the 5 speed conversion kit [cheaper option]. If you dont know how to identify quality stuff, take someone who knows and is trusted by u. The conversion kit you generally get is the local 'Dilli' made item.Originally posted by sohaibak View PostI am very thankful for the detailed information provided by fellow brother xbhpians. Waaa, so that means that this "unknown Dilli" company makes local stuff & packs them in "Yamaha packing" and sells as OE stuffs? Does this mean Yamaha India is selling Fake stuffs? Good Lord, this country has indeed gone to dogs. Looks like we get OE & branded stuff only in some parts of Mumbai.Originally posted by yamdoot View PostThe conversion kit you generally get is the local 'Dilli' made item.
Hats off to you to Doc.

I never said we get OE stuff here in Mumbai and i make it very clear if the stuff is NOT OE. I dont con people sending them non OE stuff as OE. Yes, it really means that some local companies make the gears and pack them in Yamaha boxes which is not a big deal for them .Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostWaaa, so that means that this "unknown Dilli" company makes local stuff & packs them in "Yamaha packing" and sells as OE stuffs? @ Karthik & yamdoot: Guys, kindly don't make it personal. And Karthik, you should avoid creating matters out of thin air. Let's keep it to 2 stroke spare parts only, and not what big/ local companies are doing...
And members, if you feel some post/ provocation is wrong, please "report" the post to moderators, instead of playing a 2 on 1 handicap match against the wrong doer. Its a forum, not a battleground.
Kindly remain on topic... Thanks.

Thanks for the cleanup Samarth. I was actually going to delete my posts myself today. You should browse the forum more often which will help avoid hooliganism! I always try to avoid getting personal unless someone unnecessarily provokes me and drags me into it. . All my posts are directed towards helping someone and are to the point. You would know that if you browse my limited number of posts in the last 8 years of me on xbhp, esp. the two-stroke forum and even other senior members would vouch for me on that. We have seen a lot of members come and go on the two-stroke forum but its sad to know some really active senior members have become dormant or have left Xbhp just because the forums ambience is not the same anymore.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post@ Karthik & yamdoot: Guys, kindly don't make it personal.
