The YA-1, Yamaha's first bike was based on the DKW RT125 ... the same bike which was the archetype for the BSA Bantam, Polish SHL/M11 (our Rajdoot 175)and the Harley Davidson Hummer
The RD350 was derived from a German bike called the Adler MB 250...
It was a 2-stroke parallel twin .... no reed valvbes of course ...Last edited by sixspeedtwin; 12-01-2010, 11:30 PM.02 Qualis GS

Shogun Chassis
I saw KB100's brochure pics on Shogun (Thanks for those KB100 !)....and it says that Shogun's frame is special and that it has been derived from Suzuki's racing motorcycles....Also I have been told that Samurai & Shaolin too have been built on the same frame... How true is this? ....and btw is there any itty-bitty chance of getting a new Shogun frame ?

Shoguns frame was derived from the Team Tvs-Suzuki Supra motocross bikes .. the downtube is thicker and the welds are stronger.. otherwise the chassis is the same as AX100. A Samurai chassis can safely be used on a Shogun.Originally posted by Coolkar View Postand it says that Shogun's frame is special and that it has been derived from Suzuki's racing motorcycles....Also I have been told that Samurai & Shaolin too have been built on the same frame... After reading your post did some search on the internet. I was able to see RX100 parts catalog of Yamaha Motors, Mexico available. However, going through the Mexico Yamaha website (foreign language), was able to see the list of bikes currently in production. I did not see RX100 being among them. I assume that the production of RX100 stopped? I could be wrong!Originally posted by sixspeedtwin View PostRX100 s are still being sold in Africa and Central America ... saw their catalogues and websites a few months back
Going through the parts catalog, I see a lot of commonalities between Indian version, not sure of compatibility.
I wish if the parts are compatible, still available and all the more Mexico is our very neighbor.
