Kindly let us know in detail :-

    1. What is the bike your own? Year of manufacturer, any mods done till now etc.

    2. What is that you want from the bike?

Without knowing the objective, it would be waste of time for the members guide you.
    1. its a 1986 model RX 100. The only modification done is NGK iridium spark plug.

    2. My objective is for overall performance upgradation in medium level and for a smart pickup. Im not giving much importance to mileage. At present iam getting about 42/44. But i would like to keep it around 35/37 atleast.

Hope you have got clear picture and my language is a refined one

      2. I would like to change 'reed valves'to carbon fibre one. How much it will cost?
which make? How its gonna have the impact on performance? with all other details what all u know.......

one guy told me about 'V-Force' reed valves which he is importing and it costs Rs.6000. He told me to change the reed valves to 'V-Force' and air filter to 'UNI' which costs another Rs.3500.

I need opinion of my friends, all of you here....

The Rx 100 is basically a fun setup from factory so i dont think much performance mods are really required.

Changing to carbon fibre reeds wouldn't increase the performance dramatically. And yes the cost of a V Force Delta reed is around that much. But the UNI isnt that costly. There are a lot of options for bigger reeds available in our country.

Rdd is the best option as aargee said you will get all your goodies there.

Dont spoil the fun set up, the bike has great initial and mid range power which is a lot of thrill in the city. Adding chambers or porting and all will ruin the basic fun as it will always make you hungry for more.

You are getting a fantastic mileage so why ruin that too.. i know most Yamaha Rx users dont care for the mileage but why not enjoy the best of both worlds - Performance + Mileage.

In my opinion get the bike to stock (go for as much original parts as u can), add Rdd goodies, enjoy the frowns of others.

thanks for the information...and your opinion sounds good. At present my bike is in stock condition except the iridium spark plug. Currently iam restoring it into smooth running condition and showroom look with all genuine yamaha parts. once it is finished, I will post more pics or i will start a new thread showing all the works i have done.

Just plans going on for performance modifications and iam collecting informations. I think i've got to think twice before going into that!

            1. Carbon Fiber reeds are for high revving / heavily modified motors. Stock reeds are enough for the RX or at the max you can opt for dual stage fiberglass stock sized reeds.

            2. You do not need any fancy spark plug cables. Any original cable does its job well.

                        • Is there any difference in CC for Japan RX-100?

I heard like Japan RX100 came with 113 0r --- cc, but written 98 in book.
Latter when production started in India the actual 98 cc RX100 came..

                          true?
