^^^ Second what you have to say. I always get carried away on what everyone else is doing and end up spending on stuff that never work. Thats why have been sticking to stock for a while now.

Asif, you are most welcome to stop by. As of now my Green RX & RD are at my hometown & my Black RX is catching lot of dust at my tuner's place. I am forced to use my splendor now, LOL !!!!!!!

As i travel more than 50Kms (Up-Down) everyday, i hold full throttle on the splendor with a heavily frustrated face (The speedo shows 90Kmph with lot of difficulty, but i make sure i squeeze every drop of juice from this 100cc motor)........ Demotion from 18BHP to 7BHP

          Update on Black 5-Speeder

Yesterday afternoon got a call from my Tuner & he said the RX was ready for delivery & i had a sigh of relief. Went to the shop at around 8PM, the bike was parked outside for delivery (all cleaned & polished). The first thing that grabbed my attention was the re-designed expansion chamber & i was like "wow", it looks hot. Asked him if i could take her out for a small test ride & found out there was no petrol in it.So one of the guy takes the bike to petrol pump for refueling.

Meanwhile i was just seeing out the other bikes which had come for service & mod jobs, and my eyes got stuck on a blue chambered RD350. It is the same RD which created lot of stir & commotion in the last RD meet held in Bangalore.

I just asked my tuner, if he could start the bike as i had never heard an RD on pipes. So the fun began, the revving of the monster with wiesco piston & other US spec goodies woke me up. Next, i asked him if i could sit on the bike just to check the height & he obliged. I was about to park it back, then my tuner said "Take a ride on this one, its here only for 3 more days". I was really hesitant, as i am not an expert on riding RDs & moreover it was night time & i gave the reason to him & pat came the reply, "Karthik Togondu Hogi, yenu aagalla" (Karthik take the bike, nothing will happen). I gathered some courage & took it out across the road. Did a normal 1-2-3 shift & then took a U-Turn.

Now i said to myself, why not whack open the throttle in 1st gear & i did it. The bike took off & the front wheel was in air & i was like WTF!!!!!!!!!! This can't be true. Ok, i shifted to 2nd gear & again the same thing happened, by now my BP had gone up like crazy. I just took the RD back & couldn't get down for some good 5mins. This my friends is the most amazing feeling i have ever experienced on any bike!!!!!!

I got down & asked my tuner as to why my stock RD is not able to do all this?

He replied, "Nimmadu 30BHP, ee gaadi 350LC specs ge port maadiradu around 45BHP" (Yours is 30BHP & this one was ported to 350LC specs & power is around 45BHP). I couldn't believe what i had experienced. Then after lot of questions, he said you have been riding an 18BHP RX which weighs around 90Kgs & the RD weighs around 160Kgs with 30BHP, this is reason i was not feeling the kick. Anyways i have decided i will modify my RD & soup it up with US goodies & also an EC.

And after all this commotion, my 135 arrived & i was asked to take a test ride. Trust me guys i felt i was riding a 50cc Luna & my RX is a stage 3 ported with EC. Anyways it was my mistake of comparing a fully blown RX with a fully blown RD. I will never ever compare an RD with RX. RX is damn good, but the RD just got better!!!!!!!

Some pics of my RX taken in my office today on post number 114. Enjoy!!!!

P.S: As for that Blue Chambered RD, i couldn't sleep yesterday night & i am still in a state of shock. I feel i had a line-line short circuit in my body.

Hey Karthik, what size rims you bought of Union's? I got 1.4 and 1.6. Are they correct sizes for 135 4s? Can I plonk 2.5 (f) and 2.75 (r) on these rims?

Nitin, you have purchased correct sizes. 1.4 is suitable for 2.50 & 1.6 is for 2.75 & 3.00. I am using 1.6 on both rims as i am running 2.75 & 3.00 on front & rear respectively.

Well the old chamber was not giving me the power at higher RPMs.

The chamber looks well finished. What chamber software was used to design it? Is that a three stage? Did you increase the dia. of the stinger to get the bassy sound?

Thanks doc. I have absolutely no idea on the technical parts you have asked. But for sure the design is done by a friend of my tuner who even helps him for building drag setup pipes & he is an automobile engineer. This is all the info i have. Never met this guy.

Firstly, its KARTHIK & not "KARTHICK". Coming to your query, a chamber can be used on a stock cylinder also & the effect will be un-restrictive in nature. There will be slight shift in Power Band & the motor will rev more freely & your 0-60Kmph or 0-100Kmph marks will also improve significantly compared to highly restrictive cat-con exhausts. Another advantage is weight reduction & definately the top-speed of the bike will be higher. Depending on how your ride, the FE may increase a bit too.

You really need to fit one on your bike & experience it yourself.

Below are the effects to summarize:
                        1. Increased Power Utilization leading to better Top-End & Pick-Up
                        2. Increased Volumetric Efficiency leads to better FE if driven sanely
                        3. Better rideability, the satisfaction index is definately higher
                        4. Less Engine Strain at Higher RPM (Read 6000 & above)
                        5. A bit loud exhaust note but can be adjusted, but will never be as quiet as cat-con
                        6. Gear-to-Gear response is better
                        7. Weight reduction & hence BHP/Ton ratio increases
                        8. Emission will definately have an impact
                        9. Asthetic appeal, chicks will dig it
                        10. Cops & Dogs hate it, so keep it low when you see them
                        Thats it from my side.
