guys a few days back, my ape RR unit konked off while coming from mumbai to pune and after some time battery went dead. i had to ride with only pilot lights on, then smoke started to come from bike and bad burning smell, just before khandala ghat.
i had to stop for checking things out, when i removed the seat , i saw the wire from ape RR output to battery was cut in middle and dangling ( that was the reason battery charging stopped and battery died out) and the end of wire from battery was touching the chasis of bike and sparking ( burning smell) and whole wire hardened with heat. i removed all the fuses and disconnected the battery. then i had to ride without lights/brakelight/indicator/horn in the night and cross khandala ghat and then to pune. it was also raining. when i reached home, i was too tired and eyes also aching due to strain. i had to follow slow moving vehicles for light support, the funny part was that some of vehicles just ran away when they noticed that a bike is following them with headlights turned off.

i couold not find APE RR on next day that is sunday in pune. so i had to take a leave on monday for the repairs, checked teh APE RR that was still connected to my bike and found out that it is not working any more.
now i am doubtful, whether RR konked off first then something happened with wire coz wire was cut and burned to black just at the end of fuse or may be wire was cut first and thats why RR konked off...what do you guys say?
another information is i was not able to find APE RR unit similar to one i was using --the spare part dealer said that this is old model and not used in newer vehicles, now the 3 wheelers come fitted with a different RR which has two additional wires... may be for battery charge indication. he told me that this new one will also work in old one just that 2 wires indicating battery status need not be connected anywhere. he also said that if i still want old RR, it has to be ordered.
so i bought this new RR with 6 wires instead of 4. it has been a week and it is working fine. i will give the part number in the evening.

Now a friend of mine wants to fit a HID in his GS150R. I'm in complete darkness regarding the DC conversion process of GS150R since I didn't find anything useful [for GS150R] from this thread. There were a few posts where some fellas were asking about the conversion for their GS150R but later they didn't come up with further posts or queries!
Just name the things [Circuit diagrams, Voltage/Amp reading, etc.] you'll need and we'll try our best to come up with 'em.
