Would recommend following a mileage scale instead of a time scale for changing engine oil. If the SS lasts 3k kms for you, the FS may last 4-5k. It all depends on vehicle/road condition and riding habits. But don't expect it right from the first change to FS. After the 2nd change of FS, the actual effect starts. Change engine oil every 6 months irrespective of how much it is ridden if you intend to keep the vehicle long term.

My monthly usage is about 500-600 km so about 20 km a day of normal commuting, so if i switch to Fully synth then once in 6 months of engine oil change would do good? also which ones would you recommend i get?

An addendum to my query, is it worth putting fully synthetic engine oil as opposed to a cheaper mineral considering activa is only 110cc?

Hey guys ! I’m new here ! I have the activa 2013 model and I was thinking if I should switch to a fully synthetic engine oil. I usually change the semi synthetic oil every 3-4 months. Guys what are the ways to increase zddp level in normal 4t engine oil...
One of my friend is mixing 100ml of sae 90 gear oil with normal 10w30 4t oil.

I own yamaha r15 v3 and will do first service next week.
I have heard many negative reviews of yamalube oil.
Please suggest me best oil as I dont have knowledge regarding which oil to use

Don't go by hearsay , Yamalubes have always been one of the best oils you can get ( I have used lots of it and others too ) . Moreover you are assured of genuine oil when filling from their service . Best wishes for your first service .

At higher temp 40 grade oil Will provide better protection then 10w30.....
Most of the two wheeler manufacturers in India use 10w30 bcoz it's an energy saving oil......we Indians ask for better mileage from bike , not better protection to engines...

w40 will work fine but 20w50 can cause problems .

Cold flow of both 10w30 and 10w40 are same......

Can 10w40 oil flow easily inside honda hornet engine. Company recommended grade for hornet is 10w 30. Will 10w 40 oil damage honda hornets engine[emoji15]

Cold flow of both 10w30 and 10w40 are same......

Don't worry about Jaso ma or mb....mb oils contains friction modifiers which mess with wet clutch ....since scooters comes with dry clutch , you can use either ma or mb..
In market all mb oil comes in 10w30 weight which is not ideal for summer....
If u wanna experiment you can use car engine oils ,which also contains friction modifiers...I guess aprilla Sr 150 uses motul xcess 5w40 which is a car engine oil..

Isn't their some technical difference between bike and scooter oils?

Don't worry about Jaso ma or mb....mb oils contains friction modifiers which mess with wet clutch ....since scooters comes with dry clutch , you can use either ma or mb..
In market all mb oil comes in 10w30 weight which is not ideal for summer....
