Stay on Motul 5100, a fresh new oil is better than old synthetic. And since 5100 is cheaper, you replace it faster too. Use for 2700-3200kms at max.

    1. 10W40 will be better than recommended 10W30.
    2. Fully-Synthetic oil is almost 3 more more expensive than Synthetic (I hope they meant Semi-Synthetic by that). Since I am going to change oil every 2.5K, is it justified to go Fully-Synthetic ?
    3. Using different brand engine oil voids your warranty. My point is, engine oil turns black around 3K. How do they know it was Bajaj or Castrol or Shell ?
    1. Yes, 10w-40 is better for our conditions than 10w-30. Sometimes, temperature chart alone need not be used, an engine with very tight tolerances can do with a lighter 10w-30, but often a manufacturer will also consider mileage and emissions when selecting a particular grade.

    2. No. Waste of money. AX-7 will be the best for 3000 km drain interval or AX5 for 2-2.5 interval but AX5 is 20w-40.

    3. They won't know even if your clutch slips but will do when your tongue slips .

Motul 7100 ... If you can spend more then motul 300v is the best...
Look for oil grade according to manufacturer recommendation...
Or look in your owners manual...

First go for 5100 motul for nearly about 2000 to 3000 km and then switch to motul 7100. It will be best.

Currently i am using this for my pulsar and pickup is great. If u do not go to high rev or cross 9000 rpm you can go for 5100 it is also best. I have used both. 7100 is good for me because i go to more agressive riding.

Will pave way for smooth transition to Motul 7100.
Anyone has an idea if Motul 7100 10w50 will cause any issues like leakage on Pulsar 150 ug4.5 ? Please shed some knowledge on this, else I shall be opting for 20w50 in Motul 7100 next.

I am using motul 7100 10w40 fully synthetic engine oil on my fzs v2.
If I want to switch back to the company recommended mineral oil which is 10w40 optima yamahalube , can I simply drain the old synthetic oil and pour the mineral oil?
Is it safe to switch from synthetic to mineral oil? I am really confused as I found mixed variety of opinion all around the internet.
The reason I want to change is because I find motul 7100 really expensive for me as I mostly do city commute and use my bike very little so can anyone suggest any 10w40 grade engine oil within the range of Rs 300-400 which is best suited for fzs v2.
I also found the yamahalube full synthetic 10w40 sporty premium costs around Rs 400 has anyone used it on their fzs? If yes then how is the performance?

Can the generic Motul oil like 5100/7100/300V be used there as long as they match the recommended specifications? Or are there some special oils to take care of the higher displacement engines in these bikes?

    Thanks,

300v is an engine oil specifically for superbikes. A recommended grade from a decent manufacturer, preferably synthetic is great.
