Was planning to change oil on my gixxer sf which ran 7700kms. Planning for Shell AX7 or Motul 5100, please direct me with your advise. I prefer sticking with semi synthetic.

Sir, I have a doubt regarding this -> does the factory fill oil in motorcycles/scooters and then ship to the dealers (or) the first fill is done by the dealer during PDI? Some say factory doesn't fill, but, they have to test every vehicle on the dynamo-meter, no? I know it would be impractical to fill the vehicles with oil, make them pass the test and ship them after draining the oil from each one of them.

May be the very short duration on the dynamo-meter, it is okay to run the engine without oil, i.e., the engine with only the minimum possible lube used during assembly. Please enlighten, thank you !
Engines cannot be run without engine oil as it will lead to seizure due to lack of lubrication. In India bikes are not run on dyno before dispatch..even in foreign countries only high performance bikes are dyno-ed before dispatch.
Traditionally engine oil is filled at ASC and bike may not have factory filled oil. This is done to avoid oil spills, and to ensure proper level before delivery...But different manufacturers follow different ways and so cannot be generalized...

Clocked 4000 kms and planning to change engine oil.Have changed oil at this interval 537 kms at first service , 2172 kms at second , now it clocked 4023 kms.have done third service yesterday.but did not change oil.

which should I go for ? Can I go for motul 5100 15w50 semi synthetic or I should I clock more kms ?
some one suggested moto 4 elf gold 20w50 but read some bad review about it saying it's too thick.

    please suggest me oil.

reason for changing oil , not satisfied with Bajaj oil. My gear shift have become clunky and hard some times.and I feel vibration at certain speed.

Actually I think motul take time to warm up like 10km(correct me if i am wrong) or so and my run is 7km from home to office and then return 7km total 14 to 16 Km a day.

So I was planning to use Valvoline 4T premium 20W50 Synthetic blend oil as i saw some good reviews on amazon.is it ok to use valvoline?
