It is currently a very good deal

btw, check previous pages, as the same has been discussed many times. Read from some 20 pages back and you will see what other options you have.
as for the above stated helmet and website, the total cost would come something 7000₹ better get something from india only

Yes it is available at 250 rs for a pair. I don't think they sell just one as they come in a single pouch.

I had bought them myself from laxmi automobiles in pune. I had managed to break both of them on my helmet in an accident and then replaced em.

These helmets look like a full face one but in reality they are not. I really doubt if such is the guidelines mentioned (about chin protection) for the helmets by the ISI.
I am looking for a properly padded helmet, esp the chin part, and hence the problem. None of the so called large ones fit my large head and I am not OK to buy those badly padded helmets as the padding is the most crucial part in the helmet. Even the largest of the LS2's are very tight & my ear lobes fold inside when I put it on which is not what I like. I guess I should head out to JC Road area to find out the other options available!

Got my Vega Axor Helmet(ISI n DOT certified). bought if for 2.2k(Bargained for 15 mins) Gotta say its Bang for the Buck. Snug fit on my chin, cheeks, head etc. Noise cancellation, and the visor is pretty much good even at night riding. No glare from oncoming traffic even at high-beam

I doubt if any helmet comes with padding near the chin, mostly because the chin part is required to offer proper vents to push out the exhaled air. The chin area in good helmets is moulded of the same shell which is at the crown with vents. These vents at the chin are not cut but are moulded so. Cutting will result in distortion of crystal structure of the material, or in simple words may hamper the toughness (impact absorbing capacity) of the portion. There are though "chin curtains" in some helmets to help filter the external dust particles, while the vents are already covers with a filter mesh.

I really cannot see you location in your avatar to help with the name of any shop in my knowledge in an area of your reach, or you may search a shop from the respective dedicated xBhp thread for offline shops.

@Ajay.vinod .............. congrats ................. I am just curious to see the photograph of the chin from the inside .......... I hope you may put that up here if at all possible........... my only purpose is to see (if poss from the pic) if there is a proper shell for the chin or it is just another mockery of protection using plastic.

                Warm Regards,

Finally got a good helmet after a lot of search! It's a LS2 FF396 CT2 Carbon. I started to look in AGV, then HJC, then SOL and finally settled for this. I had to let go of many helmets either because they were way over my budget or due to bad quality. It's got many features and highlight being it's light weight due to it's material of construction, for more details look into this link: http://www.ls2helmets.com/in/helmets/148/315

Thanks man! It's 11.5k after lot of bargaining, will be cheaper in Tamil Nadu since they don't have VAT and all for helmets. In mumbai it is costlier compared to many other states, that's what I found out.

Well, I meant the helmets at lower price feels like the chin part would break & smash into my face if I fall chin down and hence scary. So, looking for some helmet which feels sturdier & safe in the chin area as well.

I am based out of Bangalore. So, went to Urvashi theatre area (which is full of helmet shops) couple of days back. I tried many helmets which I felt were plain, simple & sturdy (without a price consideration). None of them fit my head, including LS2 which they claimed would suit me. Across the shops, there were some Globe & Volga brands which I was not very convinced on buying. So, they concluded that I should order a custom made helmet (rubbish). But, in one of the shops, the guy said, there are a couple of older models in Vega which are relatively larger and said he will try to source them & call me. Let me wait & see where this goes

You are absolutely right, cheap helmets not only feel they can be crushed one on side, but they can be crushed in almost any side, with proper pressure. And a helmet shop insisting you to get a custom size either doesn't know how helmets are sized or just plain being cavalier. But it just depends on the size of the crown and your cheeks, sometimes your head might fit on a helmet but then your cheek might be too suffocating, that way you'll have to get a lesser dense cheekpads or look for a different helmet with little cheek padding.

As a rule just measure your crown, with the measurement chart in the website of the brand you're intending to purchase on, then get an approximate measurement and then decide the size either an L or XL so that will give you enough time to decide right on which one you want, L, XL instead of wearing every helmet out there to get the right fit.

                                Cheers!
                                VJ
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                THE END
