Re: Helmets
It might have been due to incorrect head position causing a lot of stress on the muscles. Try a more aerodynamic position, and always try to take the stress along the axis of the body. Neck pains occur only if the stress is distributed in a direction that is not along the axis. For the vertical axis, the weight of the helmet or anything upto 5 Kgs, including the forces caused by speed, should not matter.Originally posted by hypheni View PostI'm having a bit of back neck pain after long ride say 500kms. Is that due to heavy helmet weight? I use a LS2 which weight approx 1.5Kgs.
P.S: The axis of the body is the line is the vertical line passing through your larynax down to your pelvic region.I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

You are probably riding like the right pic. Which is why your back neck hurts, your front of the helmet is pulling up, back muscles are stressed as this also creates a pull back pressure on the helmet.
Not to worry, can easily fix it. Just sit on the bike as it feels natural and without any stresses, loosen your elbows little bit and you will sit right. Re: Helmets
i wish we had scratch guards for helmet visors too :POriginally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostI scratched my axxis's visor on a stone wall(fort wall) :banghead:
There are 3-4 marks, it does not give much issue but some time feel irritated at night .
Please suggest how can I fix this, do I need to buy new visor :what:
jokes apart, even a small scratch causes disturbance in low light conditions. so, better get a new one.
Live like you mean it, then get a bike!

Re: Helmets
Can't we use tablet's screen guards on visor, I guess that won't affect the visibility and will protect the visor too :sly:Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Posti wish we had scratch guards for helmet visors too :P

Re: Helmets
tempered glass is still brittle compared to plastic.
in the event of a fall it would very well shatter and end up blinding the wearer.
besides...
it's totally possible to keep a helmet visor virtually scratch free.
helmet visors can be polished to remove almost all scratches that causes issues with visibility at night.
Clean the surface of your visor with WD40 first to get rid of any grit and grime. use a microfibre cloth.
Then, use a rubbing compound and using a microfibre cloth to rub the visor. do this two/three/four times.
Then use a polish and do this two/three times.
Then finish off with a wax.
Use a different part of the microfibre cloth for each of these steps.
(this process will completely remove the anti-fog coating from the top of your visor if it has one)
but you can always use shaving foam to make your visor anti-fog (for about a week) again.Last edited by xionite; 09-01-2016, 01:25 PM..

Do you think these marks on visor can be reduced? Attaching the pics .
Regarding the anti fogging hack, do we have to just apply and wipe the shaving foam or have rinse with water after applying foam :sly:Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

Re: Helmets
Hi guys. Let me start off by apologizing for any mistakes in the post. I am relatively new. Now that the disclaimer part is out of the way, can someone please tell me where i can get a studds shifter in medium size in pune? Graphics don't matter to me. I have already tried a large size and it is loose enough to warrant a medium-only purchase. No website seems to be carrying it, nor does any brick and mortar shop. Although i did only visit a couple (pro biker and funky's on mg road) due to lack of knowledge of helmet shops in pune. So if someone could direct me to the same it would be a huge help, thanks.
PS: i went through the thread and someone asked the same question. He was directed to aatomato.com but the website doesn't seem to be working. It just wouldn't checkout and now it doesn't seem to be loading. A brick and mortar suggestion would be appreciated.

Re: Helmets
Hope this question is not a repeated one. Please do reply if possible.
Is a clear visor on daytime actually unsafe? The apparent theory explained was, On a Long ride in a bright sunny day, constant exposure to bright lights will tire the rider's eye soon leading to dimnished vision and giddiness.
How true is the above phenomena? Is it just a legend? Cause this is the first time I'm hearing such a thing that too from an expirenced tourer. He also gave examples that this is the very reason why motop guys wear tinted visor even on a relativley dark environment, for a sport where vision is 75% of the skill required.

Re: Helmets
Theoretically this could be possible, but practically I don't believe in would translate to much of a difference for the average user, unless maybe when you have a really long ride in a really sunny environment. Saying it would be "unsafe" would be quite a stretch according to me. Even in such a circumstance the difference would be negligible probably.Originally posted by Andy_kristine View PostHope this question is not a repeated one. Please do reply if possible.

Tinted visors are a lot better according me anyways, its really hard to use a clear one after using tinted, so you might as well just use that for personal satisfaction, rather than due to any theories of it being unsafe.
Just my 2 cents[emoji85]

Re: Helmets
That's quite a number of deep scratches. Even if it could be removed, which I'm pretty doubtful of, it wouldn't be worth the effort. You'd rather get yourself a new visor, that's the only option really. Consider a tinted visor if that suits your personal preference.Originally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostDo you think these marks on visor can be reduced? Attaching the pics .
