    • Urgent help !!

Guys i need your help and it is urgent. I own two helmets which are
      1. Gliders MC-1
      2. Studds Rhyno

The studds rhyno is pretty new so no problems but the Gliders MC-1 got wet once in the rain and the inner padding is stinking badly. It is impossible to wear it now. Please give me a solution as to what can be done. i thought of cleaning it with soap water and cloth but as you all know, because of the rains , i m skeptic
that it wont dry out faster and will leave some smell again.

i need a solution urgently because the Gliders is my daily wear helmet.

      Please help

Allow it to dry in the sun, shell down.
After a day, take it out, apply a bit of powder&spray some deo inside also if needed.
Else, if you are still feeling its stinking, remove the padding&dry them separately. The helmet has removable padding so no worries-it can be changed also if needed.

Thank you so much for replying. Well the thing is that i am in bhopal and these days the sun does'nt come at all. This is the main problem i am facing and it rains almost everytime.

Well the helmet does not have removable lining/padding. And do you think applying deoderant will be safe for the head ? Please let me know if there is another solution to this .

Don't you use a skull cap inside the helmet?
If not, start using it-it costs hardly Rs.10-20&is very good both for your hair as well as the helmet padding!

yeaterday i been to chopra's shop..
they were asking 3k for ls2 shadow..
was that the right price ?
Dont go for LS2... a kind of manufacturing defect.. gap in visor and helmet above the right eye area.. hence when you are driving at high speeds it makes a whisteling sound as the air comes in from there... found this in many LS2 helmets... other than that they are a good buy.. but 3k is costlier... try more shops.. you might get it cheaper..

well actually i dont . will buy it ASAP.

update: i washed the inner lining as the smell was very bad and i could'nt tolerate it. I guess it will take 4 or 5 days to dry up. lets hope for the best.

I would suggest that you replace the lining - bad smell indicates mould/fungus which is notoriously difficult to get rid of. Not healthy for you and will be a recurring problem.

Also likely that it has spread in between the EPS/Styro and the shell, in which case any amount of washing won't help without removing the styro itself from the helmet.

You can try putting the helmet under sun. Such that its properly ventilated (visors removed or open). Should eliminate the bad smell.

apply candid B anti fungal powder before and after washing and keeping it in the sun/drying.

Well thank you guys. It seems like i have to change the padding itself. Let the helmet get dried up and then will update you guys with the result. Till then, i guess i will use my studds rhyno.

                            thanks again

                                Helmet-Headphones

A small DIY I did sometime back to my unused old but working headphones...

You can find the entire album of pictures

You too can do it at home...

Take a old pair of headphones...

                                and rip them apart

Make sure you dont cut any wires and get these out properly..

They are a direct fit into any audio-video device with a 3.5mm jack input...

The cushion of the headphone can be used for padding in the helmet..

The slot inside your helmet to place the headphones and cushion..

You can place the cushion as shown..

The headphones go in as shown...

Put the headphones and the cushion together inside the helmet padding so as to it stays firmly in there...take the wire and the jack out as per your comfortability...
