I have quick clarification on SOL SF01 vs. SL68s, I really liked SL68s because of the graphics. Does Visor for both the helmets are same or its different or its just the shell which is different??? And
In terms of weight does SOL is equalant or lighter compared with Airoh??

I didn't get M-size in SOL when I visited the helmet shop last week and was not happy with SOL SF01 graphics because SL68s was not in display and more over I didn't knew about SL68s earlier... specially after trying out Daijya helmet with real cool graphics, the fit and feel was amazing with a inner pump to adjust the fit..but didn't go for it because I wasn't sure if the helmet is genuine or fake, there was no certification embossed on the helmet and the guy was also quoting Rs.4750/- (online price)...

Any advice on SOL (SF vs SL) vs. Any other recommendations on good Helmet with budget of Rs.5k/- will be a Great help....

      Thanks!
@ Daytona - I assume your question is directed at me, so here it is -

The SF01 and SL68s are two completely different models. The SF01 comes with a built in inner visor, while the SL68s does not. This means the SL68S is the lighter.

SOL/GMax helmets are sold in many countries around the world and if you check the review on the website, you will see that webbikeworld.com even selected the 68s as the "Motorcycle Helmet of the Year - 2007". The review can be seen here - WebBikeWorld Review.

I think you should read the review and comments carefully to assure yourself that you are getting a genuine quality product.

I cannot comment on graphic preferences since that is purely an individual perspective, and there are many owners of the SF01 who will engage you in hot debate over choice of graphics!

                  • Hey Guys,
Got myself a new LS2 Diamond in red graphics yesterday. Purchased it for INR 2600/- at Sunshine Auto, Thane. Used it for 30 kms or so while returning to Dombivli from Thane. The fit is really nice and there is a decent level of noise reduction.
I have to mention it here that as I was about to leave Sunshine auto, I checked into another shop just beside Sunshine to get a tank pad. I did not purchase any tank pad as i did not like them. However, this shopkeeper saw that I was holding a new LS2 and asked me how much did I pay. As I told him the price he said, "Sir, Mere paas ye LS2 aapko INR 2400/- main mil jayega. Kisi aur ko lena ho toh mere paas bhej dena." . I think this happens at times but I am not sure if this guys has enough variety and stock of LS2 models.
Anyway, so guys if anybody is going to purchase an Ls2 model please contact at the below mentioned address and save yourself a couple of hundreds on the asking price :-
Shri Krishna Automobiles - (next to Sunshine Auto) - Teen petrol pump, Thane. Mr. Sunil Sachdev and Mr. Haresh Sachdev - 022-25399039.

Will upload some pics of my new LS2 soon.
Thanks Saurabh and Pavan for your help .

                    Regards,
                    Nagesh

                    • Daijya Carbon Fibre Helmet

My latest Daijya Carbon Fibre Helmet.

                      Color: Black
                      Price: Rs. 12,990
                      Satety Standard: ECE 22.05

                      Pros:

+ Extremely light weight (1,165 Gms)
                      + Sturdy Construction
+ Excellent Face Shield/Visor (sturdy in the opening/closing mechanism as well as the optical quality)
+ Good Value for money for a Carbon Fibre helmet

                      Cons:

                      - The latest Daijya Helmets got "quick release" mechanism, I prefer the "Double D Rings" (so replaced it with the Double D Rings from my old Daijya Helmet)
                      - Inner padding is decent but could be better for a 13K helmet
                      - The drop down inner visor isn't optically perfect

Ownership experience: Happy that I got this helmet.

The New Daijya Helmets conforms to ECE 22.05 safety approval.

About ISI approval: I have sampled a few helmets which have ISI stickers and I shudder to even think of using them.

                              • I got myself a new KBC Helmet - VR LAGUNA II (Green).

Went out for a ride with the new helmet and have the following observations

                                1. Helmet is quite silent; not in the league of Arai and Shoei though
                                2. My earlier Daijya was an air buffeting artist. Not this one. This one stays steady behind the windscreen and also while sitting up.
                                3. Visor is really impressive, amazingly clear and seals out the elements properly.
                                4. Venting is adequate, front vents work very well. Top ones channel lesser air than I thought.
                                5. Double D rings for retention is a plus
                                6. The helmet is ECE 22.05 compliant.
                                7. Overall, a very decent buy for Rs. 8K.
