I believe you said that you are short and lean, and I am lean too (very). So, meaty motorcycles won't look good for us even if they are designed/faired well.

You said you ride a hunk; can you tell me if you look good on that bike? Check yourself out while riding in a mirror/reflecting surface somewhere next time and let me know. If you do, then 150cc bikes can be included in the list.

I believe that you are looking for good power, so the standard commuter vehicles won't do for you. So the classic splendor, etc., are out of the list. With what knowledge I have, I believe you can test ride a) bajaj discover 125 ST - they just released it and it will help you with your intercity commute, and b) honda cb twister - this will help you with the city traffic; the prime reason I took it as against all others was its small frame and light weight.

You will notice that I am limiting my recommendations to 110 - 125 cc range. I do have some suggestions on 150 cc and above, but I would like to know if you are comfortable riding on those.
that hunk does look good for me with my usual casual wear on me. and iam sure i can hanle a 150cc bike.but more than that i think will be a bit trouble for me for first few weeks till i get used to it.

by the way , i didnt liked the 125st that you suggested me because it just look like a commuter.
and cb twister is started being a kiddu and family guy bike here nowadays.and i didnt liked that plastic part behind.so only i opted it out.
iam looking for a bike with good looks and tech stuffs.and with what i can wade through the traffic and go fast like a cheetah once iam expert on handling it.

Sorry, I had to copy paste this from other thread, coz I thought this will help you. You can also refer other comparos with P135, on bikeindia, overdrive etc, where they compared P135 with other bikes.

No bro!! If it comes out true then why not to agree it ??

I just want to see if FZ is not that good in accelration compare to P135 then why people are opting FZ,
when it gives less mileage?? speed post 100kmph is not good??
According to many FZ lacks torque punch or pickup after 80kmphs??
even in 0-100 mark he is slow?? Then where does FZ scores??
only on comfort and handling?? even that is been taken to question with RTR 160 ?? or P135??
Then why people are paying 80k+ for a 150cc bike?? is that only looks and Yamaha badge??

Even there was a great discussion R15 is slower then CBR, but recent post by Antz gave a clarification through video, CBR is bit slow then R15!!
So just want to see it my self!! My friend have P135 adn FZ too, will check it this weekend!!

                  Cheetah.., huh?

Well, in that case, here are some that I like in the order of exclusivity/coolness.

Apache > cbz xtreme = hunk > dazzler

Apache is a rare breed and will ensure that xclusivity you are longing for. If I looked any bit like salman khan, I would be riding an apache with a sleeveless top near to girls colleges every day.

Pulsar is too common On the roads and you mentioned a dislike for Suzuki and so both are out.

I am not too sure about their pricing, though. I read your budget was around 80.

You will notice I have not included Yamaha. Here is a reason for that.

Yamaha has been here for over a couple of decades but while other makers have seen tremendous growth in their volumes, their market share has remained negligible (see some motorblogs for monthly sales stats and a breakup) and I think it makes them less competitive overall as a manufacturer.

Again, this is my take, and you buy what you like. All the best.

Mate, you seem to have some hatred towards Yamaha.
First you say that Yamaha bike accelerate faster so OP shouldnt buy them. Now this??

Sorry man, I knew I was going to give out a negative impression/judgement on a brand and risk disappointment/invite counter arguments from fellow forumites, but I had to speak my mind out on this. I don't honestly think that Yamaha INDIA is a winning brand.

Hey, if it's any solace, you can always count me as one of those ignorant imbeciles that have voting rights but have no idea what they are saying.

And for all I know, I think abi is very likely to go for FZ over all others.

I think I crossed the line first with my para on Rx100 and newbie injuries. I guess there was no need to single out any brand/model in particular.

Anyway, my advice to OP is complete. Over and out.

good introspection and the best way as you already figured out is to ride them back to back. I guarantee that you will find P135LS as better performer at the top end. What you may not notice is the quicker initial acceleration as the difference is barely half a second between the two. But go to top end, difference should be obvious to anyone. I would say handling, both the bikes are right there, may be FZ slightly ahead at higher speeds due to mono-shock. Refinement & smoother gear shifts, obviously FZ trumphs P135LS, but Pulsar may be not far behind. Overall, when you put price into equation that's when FZ runs for cover. And yes, you are right, people are buying it for Yamaha badge, looks and most importantly faaaaaaaat rear tyre even though that makes FZ return below avg mileage figures.

Just asking : Is the statement really true that FZ/Fazer returns low FE just cause of the fat rear tyre?
I mean the old R15 had a pretty thin tyre as compared to the new v2, still FE is near about the same. Also the new 2012 FZ/Fazer has the same 130 section rear tyre but returns better FE.

So is the low FE due to lack of fine tuning or fat rear tyre?
