Did a small 500mtrs dash last night on the inner road.
There is a marker from which I took off and clocked 125kmph on santoosh's stock R15. We had dragged both mine and his about 3 weeks ago to check the differences and mine was beating the stock bike right after it enters the 7000rpm mark. However low-end torque was sacrificed big time. That day my R15 clocked 126kmph at the same stretch. [All speedo reads].
The low-end torque is better than before and a tad better than a stock R15 too. Can ride in top-gear almost all the time in city too.
So decided to check the acceleration gains now on my bike.
I started off from the same point and clocked 131kmph on the speedo at about 50mtrs earlier than the point where I would cut throttle earlier(my agv's tinted visor just shut and I was blinded ). The bike was still pulling strong, however could not pull anymore as the stretch nearly ended there.
Would have done another 2-3kmph more easily. So that makes it 6kmph more in the dash which was about 50mtrs shorter.
Thats one point where I have tested all my bikes. So I know the distance and the speeds pretty well. My RTR would do a speedo indicated 133kmph. Fiero would hit 140kmph speedo(which is a true 133kmph on the gun).
However from my tests, its clear that my R15 is faster than my RTR by a few kms in the top-speed guns. However need to check the acceleration. I need somebody to ride my RTR like how I do to get even results, to check the differences.

So another Speedtest this sunday. This time it was the best. Got amazing speeds.
The set-up runs a few tweeks, however the engine is stock spec.
At the point where we normally test, a stock R15 does 126/127kmph.
My R15 was clocked 131kmph on the gun 2 weeks ago at the same point.
Now clocked 135kmph, with the speedo reading 141-142.
Did a 400mtrs stint too.
Bone stock does 112-113kmph, mine - 117kmph.
Later, on my way back was cruising in 6th when a scorpio zipped by. Just wacked open throttle from 6000rpm and speeds kept building untill i reached 144kmph on the speedo. Pulled further and then hit the red zone - 150kmph. The bike hit its rev limter in 6th and its easily a true 140kmph. This was done in about 2 odd kms.
Never heard of anyother r15 maxing out like this.
The best part I loved was the handling. I run a stiffer set-up, so it was super steady. Simply loved it.
We just checked my R15 against a stock R15 and it was no where close. Almost lost behind.
I'm really itchy to pick a different head and do the next set of works to make things go faster. Will also be building a tuned exhaust for some street fun, this stock exhaust is too silent.

Am planning my next set of works for the R15, no minor stuff..for a fun street set-up. Also need to find enough time to build the Fiero.

Do u still stand by ur statement that the R15 is not a 17PS bike?

Yup, a bone stock R15 is never 17ps. Its just a 15.5bhp engine man.
U need to really give it a hard kick on its butt.

@pranay - Yup, that was the limit of the R15 gearing. Clocking 150 on the speedo was something else. A bone stock bike would pretty much never do that untill u drop it off a cliff.

Joel, I need ur appointment for a few days, so that my bike can come close to urs. Tell me when its possible. This bike is driving me crazy with its all-tall gears.

Understood and going ga ga about everything you said, but didnt understand what you meant here.... oh and is that 150 an averaged top speed or the max that you hit!

I mean the max can be because of a lot of reasons you see, but nevertheless you are making us jealous :P

@Joel - New exhaust for the R15 ?? build a megaphonic like the 1 on my zma. You`ll be headturner like me . Its really nice to see your bike fly, i think your bike is the fastest r15 in bangalore.

Is there a faster stock spec R15 anywhere in the country? I dont know. Anya Racing bikes are damn fast man. Anyways thats racing. U'll for sure never see a fast bike on streets though.
Exhaust, I'll build a different one. Not like the megaphone I built for ur bike. Should have more top-end grunt, thats the set-up I like. Would not make it too loud, more of base note than a scream. Like my Fiero. Actually gives a very classy exhaust note. I still miss my Fiero's exhasut grunt. Used to sound very mature and grunty.

@satyenpoojary - I've stiffened my front suspension. So the bounce at higher speeds is very composed over a stock bike.

@Apar - Ha ha ha ha. We'll talk about it later . I dont find my R15 tall-geared anymore, ride in top-gear almost everywhere.
