I feel I can run around 8 secs with the current set up and good fuel (not tried as yet) what petrol did you have? if you've not tried, I recommend you use speed 97, unfortunately we don't get that here so I'm running my own homemade cocktail, the bike is running great, will update all the details on my thread in around a months time. I have also been running with system G lately, it makes a huge difference to how the bike runs, it gets the thumbs up from me!

Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

^^^ using regular fuel. Nothing special. Once we have hit the 8s, that will be next thing (97 octane) we will try. I am sure it can release another 1 to 1.5 HP.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

I have started using Speed 97 on my souped up R15 and the unexpected part was big boost in mileage. With Shell unleaded I always use to get 38Kmpl or less. With same riding style, I am getting around 43Kmpl (average of last 4 full tank fuel refill) with Speed 97 consistently. I didn't notice any significant difference in other aspects though except slight surge in rev happy nature of engine.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View Post^^^ using regular fuel. Nothing special. I have switched to Motul 300v double ester fully synthetic and now I can feel the huge difference, Yes the starting problem has reduced considerably. I did paint the alloys and rear mud guard and the job was not perfect so few months later I am planning to do it again. My tires are due for replacement. Next month I am planning for that although its difficult to find the spec of tires here. I asked couple of big shops and they asked fro 10 - 15 days time. I can wait for that. My clutch plates are 33K old I did not find any huge difference in performance but I am planning to change that also. Mine is five plate I suppose.
Both my discs were in bad condition and I did get a set of petal disc for front from Joel and I have installed that along with a steel braided line in front, I changed to stock plate for rear disc but It was difficult installing rear steel braided line with the stock set up so its back to original now. The braking has good improvement now.
The ride feel more smoother now I did manage to hit 142 with my 88 kg weight its was wounder full experience. As always it will be never enough, it got me thinking Did I miss the opportunity to install 172cc block.
Thanks for your advice and sincere help. I will update you about the happenings. Thank you again.
now i loved that petal disc part.... Pics please from all possible angles... Let me have a look at those tasty petals upfront... Size and other details please.. I know the price i have to get it from joel itself...

Isn't the actual biting area in the rotor way too less?? Looks like a Compromise on performance...Is it?Originally posted by Sivasundaran View PostSorry for the delay, Please find the pics attached. +1 !! That was my first thought when I saw the large cutouts in the disk.. Maybe that's why it's a 300mm+ disc, needs the size for adequate contact patch..Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostIsn't the actual biting area in the rotor way too less?? From what i read in the last issue of xbhp, whether petal discs are better than regular discs is debatable. hasnt been proven yet conclusively i guess. but am sure they are not worse than regular discs otherwise manufacturers would never have used them at all. plus they look like a million bucks man! bieng 300mm they are definitely gonna have better perfoemance am sure of it. joel uses one on his street spec r15 when i saw it.

Petal Rotors are better than conventional rotors and the point is agreed & debatable worldwide. What I'm concerned about is the "Contact Patch/ Biting Area". below are the images of two Petal Rotors in the same R15. See the contact patch for yourself....Originally posted by plasmabhai View PostFrom what i read in the last issue of xbhp, whether petal discs are better than regular discs is debatable. hasnt been proven yet conclusively i guess. but am sure they are not worse than regular discs otherwise manufacturers would never have used them at all. plus they look like a million bucks man! bieng 300mm they are definitely gonna have better perfoemance am sure of it. joel uses one on his street spec r15 when i saw it.

That's the point here. More Contact Patch = Better Efficient Braking. Less Contact Patch = Less Braking.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostThe Daytona one...Can clearly see the contact patch there which is wide...

Guys, Yes the contact is very less but the performance is not what we imagine. I too had the same doubt when I installed with a local mechanic, and called up Joel for confirmation. Now the bite is real strong one can easily feel the difference from stock. I hope I have installed it right
@Rahulbarik, U must have almost the same set up. You can also share your experience and let us know the performance.
It adds to cosmetics also but to be frank and practical you will get your petals hardly noticed by majority of public, Its the rider who will take pride about and enjoy the set up.
Daytona kit seems to have a better performance by what the picture shows, I do not know the cost of it so I cannot compare and comment it with my set up's performance.
My petal discs, front and rear steel braided line without transport charges costs around 7K. Please share the cost of Daytona's for effective comparison. I am sure it will cost more but I wanted to know how far one has to spend more cost for more contact patch and better efficient braking.
Your expert suggestions are welcome to improve the contact patch for effective braking.
Anybody can come and experience my set up to feel the change. Only X-bhpians though
. NO charges

man something seems really fishy here... i had really not noticed the patch to be this thin when I last made my comment! (Was on my phone unfortunately)
Has this been installed right? I am not too sure man. Seems like the rubber pad are hardly kissing the disc at all...
@shivasundaram Maybe you should take a second opinion I say. Just going to another good mechanic and showing this will cost you absolutely zero money. Plus you may feel that the bite is good, maybe after setting it up better the bite will be excellent, who knows. My point is that if you have invested your money, make sure you are getting every penny worth out of your investment. That is all. btw those discs look absolutely awesome!---
