^ If you really want 60W for cheap, just remove all other bulbs - pilots, tail lamp and speedo bulbs and plonk in the 60/55W bulb without any other mods. It will glow brightly at revs above 3k or so. Perfect for the highways, but will be dim for the city.

How much 19G wire is requerd for switch to 60w bulb?and is that requred to remove that charging coil winding?because i want to switch to 60w ac setup first
how much grams or lenghth will do it better???im going to save money and will switch to dc and Hid setup.but for my next week ride i want that.

In theory you can. In practice, the battery acts as a buffer and prevents "spikes" in voltage that the RR unit gives out. So, with bulb in place of battery, I am not too sure how it will work out.Originally posted by Ramborider View PostOk abhijeet have to wait for that ape rr !!because done Dtsi swing arm and suspension mod and Michelin m45 tire!! bomb on my pocket!!
can we make voltage regulator for that 100w and feed directly though that circhit to headlight !!
is im right!!!

Whoa! Wait wait!Originally posted by Ramborider View PostOhh 100W!! will be a real treat!!
ok! that means removing 2 winding from that 3 chrging coil.
so is that possible if i want to pute 100w bulb but on ac! then rewinding that one chging coil with 19G wire and other 6 coil to stock rr unit and feed it to front light!
is that 1 coil is enough to chrge that 10-20w after rewinding with 19G which used for accesory?
and is that 100w coil power can be sustain by stock rr unit without any hitch.
one more! puting 100w helogen will definatly melt reflector so i heard about amby reflector which has good spread also!! so it will be bonus too
Due to that we can get following benifits, please correct me if im wrong
1)it save money on that ape rr unit costing around rs1100 may be more
2)battry also doest get any dose of sudden squezing while switching on like that.
You can not have 100W flowing to the stock RR unit. You need the APE RR unit. Dont worry, the Pulsar batt. is strong enough to take 100W easily.
And you can not play with the ignition coil (yellow one). That one goes directly to the CDI unit.
Only thing to do is rewind the other 7 poles to form a single coil and use the APE RR unit.
Yes amby reflector works fine.

Just keep the yellow ignition coil as it is. Remove the other 2 coils on the 7 poles and rewind from one end to another in alternate fashion and make a single coil.Originally posted by Ramborider View PostI think coil plate consist of 7 coil, which 3 are for headlight feeding coils??attaching that pic taken from net.
so i can put out from correct coil
thank you.
and 250gram wire winding can sustain how much watt bulb at headlight??60w or only for 35w HID?
If you can manage to use up all 250gm wires by winding extremely neatly, you can get above 100W for your h/l!

No, with stock coil, its not possible to sustain HIDs for long.Originally posted by Ramborider View PostThankyou abhijeet
....im buy 4 diods and 1 capsitor of 25v 2700 at 50rs snd now im going to do that tomorrow.but is this practical to make ac to dc without rewinding and 35w HID setup???and if i want to make rewinding coil then which coil is stand for headlight ?and how much turns it requred of thick gauge 19gauge as per experts like you early said,so is how much length of wire generaly can use?is it same length of we get it out of that coil or it depend on other criteria????
can my self get that rewinding can be done???or its advisible to get it from othrs??i have soldering iron, multimeter and im not that much electronic expert but im very much facinated about doing that work my self.so please helm me out
rewinding and puting 60w bulb and making dc setup by using bridge rectifier does requred regulator? to control amount of curent giving to battery?bacause when we r not using headlight so that time also current is feeding to battery,so is it desirable??
For rewinding, you have to remove the battery + h/l coil and using 19G wire, wind all the poles in alternate fashion. Total 250gm wire should be enough. After that, use the APE RR unit and connect the coil o/p to RR and RR o/p to batt. Now, just connect the h/l directly to batt.

my query is that magneto has one coil for chrging battery and other is for headlight which produce ac output those coil o/p goes to rr unit, battry chrging o/p converted into Dc and feed to battrey for chrging ,while second headlight ac output is feed to headlight assembly in between rr unit regulate voltage at high rpm.
while 35 watt halogen are taking current from coil which doesnt matter to battry chrging right?
now we converted to ac to dc means puting custom rectifier and put that healight output to battry though rectifier and seeping power to headlight though battry so it give flicker free lightning.
my question is 1) what amount of current generaly batrrey chrging coil feeding to battry via rr unit? how much Watt is that??
It is around 2A max. That is around 20W max. For a fully charged battery, it comes down to around 10W.
if i want to convert to 35w HID,so converting AC to DC on original headlight coil(without rewinding) is solve the problem? or it requred to switch to avenger 60w coil?and 35w HID setup??(here im only considering 35w HID no helogen light)
Avenger 60W coil will support HID w/o any issue. But best bet is to rewind - if you are modifying the bike, better rewind it.
2)if we converted to AC to Dc and 60w avenger coil setup, and 35w HID fit then is there battery overchrged??because we are taking only 35w from battry and giving 60w+battry chrging o/p also! so is it reduce battry life??
3)and i dnt geting that if we giving 13.8v DC to battry then current doesnt matter for it for overchrging? voltage=resistance*current,so is that means current doesnt matter for overchrging?is that means battry takes its reured current only? i.e 8amp and 13.8 supply voltage then battry requred only 2amp then is it take only 2amp???
Yes, as long as voltage is proper, it will not overcharge.
4)i buy that bridge rectifier elements for making that so please educate me about that things,im also IN in that tread now
im very concirn about its reliablity because i dont want to become blind inbetween lonly place!!
For this setup, you just need the parts I have described in the first page.
Thankyou very much for previous education.
Just to let you know, my bike ran this setup for around 2 mnth, after that I rewinded the coil as I needed more powerful h/l.

Maybe you can check the wiring. This mod should not cause battery to discharge.

AC to all DC
hi, Abhi...
first of all thanks a lot for your valuable info. on DC conversion,
I've converted my bike(pulsar 150 dts-i) to all DC with the help of your thread.
I've used Bridge Rectifier and wiring mods the same way you had done it in your thread. I'm using 35w stock halogen, I've installed LEDs in speedo & tacho meter, made LED Tail Light, installed LEDs in pilot lamps, now all the lights are working pretty fine. but I've observed that the battery is getting drained a bit whenever i don't use my bike for 8-9 hours..
what do you think may be the reason????
plz reply asap....
here's the link for my album ( xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community - sagarBijwe's Album: My bike )
