Not even once did my rear stock tyre skid.

Also the first week I drove the bike without checking the tyre air pressure thinking that those showroom ppl have checked it while delivering. But to my utter shock, 2 days back when I checked at an electronic pump, the tyre pressure was 19 in the front tyre and 18 in the rear .

After increasing it to 30, I experienced the real performance of the bike

And during that first week, my tyres never skid even once, even though I 'hard-braked' a few times.

                First >200 cc bike.

Before this, used to ride P180.

Actually, that day I felt something shaky while riding it, so as it had been 1 week since I got the bike I thought maybe it was the tyre pressure, since I've not checked it up after the delivery.

                • Got the call from dealer!!

Guys, as I was sipping my coffee and browsing Xbhp forums right now, I got call from HH dealer that my white ZMR is ready for delivery!

So it has come sooner than expected, I had booked on March 13 and waiting period was 2.5 months.

Now I need to rush to get the paperwork ready! Will ask my colleague in office to excuse me for the day, I cant work now

Its less than 2 months right?

I also hav booked on March 16 still waiting........

He is selling our ZMRs to others by taking BLACK (Premium) from them. But I cant prove it thats the problem.

                    Bad dealer

                    • ^sbr_yash: I think waiting period depends upon City and Dealer.

Yippeee, my ZMR (white color) was delivered yesterday!! My dream of owning a new bike has finally come true.

I have been riding Honda Activa, Yamaha RX100, Pulsar 135 in the last 3 months (after returning from USA after a long time). So I can compare with only commuter bikes. I rode ZMA only once long back, haven't ridden the bigger Pulsars or R15.

On road price was Rs 1,04,399. Dealer told that Rs 600 more for Teflon coating done by 3M. I said okay.

Yesterday had to run around a bit for getting the Affidavit-cum-Indemnity document; got hold of an agent to get it done. At around 7:30 pm when the showroom had closed, I left with my bike.

Bike is a pleasure to drive, I'm not used to this much power and torque! Will list down the initial impressions with only 25 km done-

                      1) Seating position with clip-ons is very comfortable. Pillion comfort is also nice. Suspension felt very good over bad roads in the city.

                      2) Bike feels good at 3000 rpm. Trying to keep it to that. I need to figure out at what rpms should I upshift. Can feel the potential of the bike after I put on a thousand kms.

                      3) Rear view mirrors offer very good view because of their mounting position.

                      4) Gears are neither too soft nor too hard. Downshifting from higher gears neutral doesn't come easily sometimes. Not much of a problem though.

                      5) Instrumentation/consoles are really good. RPM meter is nice. Daytime riding everything is cleanly visibile.

                      6) Turn indicator could have been better (especially the press to cancel the turn).

                      7) A member has recently pointed out in another thread that there is a difference between engine overheating and rider feeling the heat (in faired bikes). I could feel some heat below my thighs a couple of times, but it was not too much. I rode in heavy evening traffic and it felt okay.

                      8) Rear disk brake does not feel to have much bite.

                      ----------------------

I saw red color on display. Was looking really good. Till now I have seen white, red, black. I can say for sure that the bike looks much better in real than in pictures.

                      • I got my first servicing done yesterday. Sorted out the water in the fuel cap issue. Also the gears feel much smoother now. The remaining RVM has stopped vibrating. However, they still do not have the screws for the mirror that had come off. I talked to the spares person, the one who did the PDI but nothing came out. On asking - what can I do - they just say - nothing. It will come when it will come. Guys - any help on what can I do to get my mirror back on my bike?

Even I had the same problem, but the svc guy had an allen bolt of another size (may be only head size was different). So he fixed that one.

                            • Guys it really sucks to have the bike without getting the owner's manual.
                              I have few questions.

                              1) I failed to note down at the time of delivery, how to access the features in the console. Can somebody please summarize here how to use the buttons, I would be really grateful.

Right now my bike is showing kms reading under "B", some random time, and default welcome message. I don't want to play around buttons and accidently reset the kms reading.

                              2) I asked the delivery guy about running-in. He didn't give a clear/convincing answer, just mentioned to keep the bike under 4-4.5 rpms. Can somebody please tell what is mentioned in the owner's manual?

                              3) After starting the bike, do we need to idle it for some time? Anything mentioned in the manual.

Anything else from your side that I need to keep in mind?

                              -------

Edit: found the owner's manual in this thread.
