  • Hi friends.
I have just bought the bike after its 5th Service (& 1st paid). My bike has clocked 6600kms+(approx.). The list of problems i noticed to them were
    1) Bike behaving like 'no petrol' at low RPM's. (& Saans le rahi hai in mechanic language.).
    2) Carburetter cleaning.
    3) Drive chain lock replacement.(They didnot have it and hence no replacement)
    4) General service.
    5) DONOT CHANGE ENGINE OIL(i strictly told them and was mentioned in the job card in BOLD Letters and signed by the job card issuer.)
    After service:
    - Bike is running as smooth as butter.(although it was running butter smooth before service too. Maybe due to very tight service intervals of 1200kms and sane riding.)
    - The 'No petrol' problem seems tobe taken care of, atleast till now.
    - Gear shifts more smooth.

Here is the bill that i got:

Will be changing engine oil after 200kms as Valvoline has ran till now only 900kms.

      +180 to abhi

Initially you should use SS Go for Valvoline4Twhich is really awesome oil & performance wise its anyday better than Castrol or Veedol. so my 180 cents for Valvoline 4T, Mind you for first 2 sevrices thereafter you may use Motul FS 20W50..

@All. Please do note, its not mandatory but its always advisable that whenever you go for a change of Engine Oil, its better to change/clean the Oil/Air Filter for better result. it will definately help in boosting performance .

I think that our 180's comes with 'Oil Strainer', this was told to me by a SC mechanic and also mentioned in service book. So, to clean it one needs to open many things. But, i agree with your point of cleaning the oil filter at every oil change.

          'SHRI' makes me feel older.

Yes, only 150rs overall. I didnot paid attention to those 15rs untill you pointed out. Those are for 12.5% service tax.
          No battery maintanence.

BTW, how much does each service cost to you???? Kya sachhi mein, mein saste mein nipat gaya hoon??

HAHAHAHA... Are you joking???, No SHELL STATION in whole M.P. and my city too comes in M.P.. so, i have to come to PUNE or you will have to courier 5ltrs of SHELL PETROL to INDORE. If you think it's possible then please do.

What is your say on Premium Fuels?? My bike is happy with Normal Petrol and same do I.

Premium petrols or high octanes petrols wont do any good for the bikes having compression ratio less than 11.

so using them on the engines having compression ratio less than 11 is simply a waste of money, nothing else.

I want the service manual, not the owner's manual. I don't own a UG4. I have the SM for UG3, i wonder if anyone has it for the UG4.

I believe premium petrols have more difference from normal than just the octane number. I agree, the high octane number is not useful in engines without high compression ratios. But i think there are other additives and other differences which may be beneficial. Again, using a higher octane rated fuel than you engine needs may lead to deposits, spark plug fouling, etc.... Maybe using each alternatively is a good idea?
